Being a couple, we found this resort fantastic!||||We stayed 4 nights here and used it as a base to explore Panglao and Bohol. From the moment of check-in, to the moment of check-out, everything was great. Even before we arrived, the communication from Mayana was fantastic over the booking app, and they were very responsive to all queries we had.||We used the air conditioned van option to get to the resort from the Tagbilaran Port (30 mins drive), and were greeted with a welcome drink and room briefing.||||We ate in the restaurant three of the nights, as it was very handy after coming in late and having driven a lot on the bike. Each night the food was good. The Osterich dishes are unusual, and I enjoyed the burger Option.||My girlfriend is vegetarian, so we really appreciated that the chef was able to make her a veggie curry one of the nights.||||The breakfast was great each morning. You get a choice between an American breakfast, pancakes, omelette, Filipino breakfast. The staff were really accommodating in trying their best to get you any specific options/extras that weren’t on the menu. For instance, they made poached eggs for me one morning, though not on the menu 😊||||We rented a good scooter from here also and had a great time!||||I read the reviews mentioning the pool being ‘murky’ or ‘unclean’, but honestly we thought the pool was fab! - not only was it a nice size nd design, but it was the first pool in the Philippines we have had that has part just 5ft deep, but the deep part is actually deep and over your head at 7ft. We loved that, so it caters for every type of guest.||||The rooms are modern and spacious, as are the bathrooms. The bed is really comfy which is really important! The A/C is great and the rooms have tinted glass for privacy which was a nice touch. The safe is big enough to put a laptop in when you are out and about, and the balcony and little table and chairs on it are great with a lovely view over the pool.||||The staff are all so nice. One of the managers, Diana, was great and thorough in making sure everything is going well. She is professional and kind in dealing with issues/queries the guests have. She is a real asset to this place. Maik (owner) is a great and friendly guy and helped us with a few small issues we had early on. ||||Overall, the place is nicely designed and is kept to a high standard of cleanliness and service. Though it is a 15 minute bike ride from the main Alona area, it is a great place to use as your base on the island. You know before you are booking that it is a bit out on its own but this suited us perfectly!||||Wishing the best to Maik and team for the future!||||Areas for improvement:||- We found the WiFi to be very hit and miss, but they have obviously made a huge effort to make the WiFi good, as the rooms all have their own router.||- Maybe add poached eggs to the breakfast menu as an option, and also actual blueberry fruits for the pancakes (the blueberry jam was nice anyway but just a thought)||- Though the pool was clean and lovely, there didn’t seem to be much flow/ recycling/filtering of the water when we were there (maybe the pump was off), but this results in a film of sunscreen on the surface of the water from everyone using it. Just a small thing we noticed.||- Curtains in our room didn’t fully cover the window, so a lot of light came in in the morning when they were...

Read moreOur five-night stay at the Mayana Resort in Bohol was an exceptional experience. The hotel offers spacious rooms that are impeccably clean with extremely comfortable bedding. The pool was a perfect retreat for relaxing after our daily explorations.
The breakfasts at Mayana Resort were absolutely perfect, providing a wonderful start to our days before heading out to explore the island. They were varied, fresh, and delicious, truly enhancing our mornings and giving us the energy for our adventures.
The meals at Mayana, especially the chicken curry served at lunch and dinner, were so delightful that we preferred dining at the hotel rather than in town, where the options were either too pricey or not tasty enough.
The staff at the resort deserves all the praise: incredibly kind, always helpful and smiling, they significantly contributed to the outstanding quality of our stay.
The only minor drawback to note is the absence of credit card payment, a detail that could be better communicated.
We highly recommend Mayana Resort to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Bohol. A huge thank you to the entire team for making our...
