We stayed for 6 nights at Lime El Nido.||The place was not what we were expecting at all:||Do not be dazzled by the photos of the pool. Yes it is beautiful, and gives a great view of the bay and sunset, but the area is everything but relaxing. The pool side has only 6 lounge chairs, and 5 or 6 circular beds, none of which are clean. The pool side has zero shade, there are no umbrellas to shade yourself from the hot sun at all. ||The number one complaint we have from the resort is that there was non-stop dance music playing from two large speakers with blown out subs. Now I know you will say "this is some boomer complaint", but seriously, there was not a minute of quiet time at the pool. From the moment the pool opened until the moment the pool closed it was 10/10 loud. And no area to escape it. There were plenty of hours where it was just myself and my girlfriend at the bar and pool, and we asked for the music to be set down so we could enjoy the sun and water, they would not turn the volume down. There is an upstairs patio above the pool which would be a great spot to escape the music, could be nice but there is not a single chair or lounge chair to sit on, it is a useless waste of real estate.||The pool restaurant was adequate, for the price of meals I wouldnt write home about it at all but we didnt get sick and it kept us full.||The photos and description make it look as though the beach is accessible and nice. However, once you have booked they send you an email saying you cannot access the beach from the hotel. Also, once you get the the beach (not a long walk but have to walk through other properties to access) the beach is not one to lounge on or use. It is not as clean as indicated in photos, it is more of a harbour beach. The sand is dirty, a lot of broken glass, and is indicated you should not swim in the water.||The rooms were clean, and large with good AC. Two 1 litre bottles of water a day. The wifi was intermittent, and slow. This is not the fault of the resort, it is just the fact that you are on a small island in the Philippines. ||Each morning there was a breakfast buffet, it was probably the best part of the stay at the resort. ||I will say, staff were incredible. Very accommodating (except for the music at the pool). Everyone was very friendly and would bend over backwards to help you.||Final note: BRING YOUR OWN SUNSCREEN. We came completely unprepared expecting there to be ample sunscreen available to buy at the hotel, at stores, at markets, at road side. Do no be tricked, many (if not most) are selling fake sunscreen. I would not be putting this in the review of the hotel if it werent for the fact that the concierge (after not knowing they didnt have sunscreen for sale) sent us to "any of the stores" out front will have sunscreen. They did not. It is a well documented thing that we didnt research before our trip, the sunscreen in the Philippines is counterfeit. We got scorched in the sun on the first day after applying ample amounts, it pretty much ruined our trip....

My husband and I selected Lime Resort for our 3rd wedding anniversary, drawn by its modern aesthetics and ideal location - close yet sufficiently removed from the town's hustle to offer a serene retreat. Unfortunately, our anticipation quickly dissolved into disappointment upon arrival.
The initial greeting was an overpowering foul odor in the lobby, compounded by the chaos of many guests trying to check in or out. After a tiring 5-hour journey, our eagerness to relax was met with a delayed check-in. Worse still, our room - expected to be a romantic queen or king bed setup - featured two twin beds. Despite assurances that the beds could be merged, the solution was far from satisfactory. Our plea for the booked room was initially met with promises that fizzled into an upsell attempt for a suite, highlighting a disturbing lack of communication and transparency from the staff.
Resigned, we accepted the makeshift bed arrangement, only to face further disorder the next morning. The breakfast scene was chaotic; an overcrowded buffet with scant options and no seating forced us to eat in the lobby. Moreover, the hotel's inability to manage its capacity became glaringly evident. The corridors were perpetually noisy, not just from other guests but from blaring music, and a children's play area situated too close to the rooms disrupted any chance of tranquility.
Our room's upkeep was another letdown, with cleanliness and attention to detail sorely missing despite the daily excursions that left us craving a comforting return. Despite the beds being made, the room never felt truly clean, with old towels and dirty mats left as they were, detracting significantly from our comfort and overall experience.
Yet, amidst these drawbacks, Lime Resort shines in certain aspects. The location's beauty is undeniable, boasting a stunning infinity pool and a rooftop area that becomes a sanctuary with complimentary treats. The staff's friendliness and willingness to assist, alongside well-priced and organized day trips, are commendable traits that enhance the resort's appeal. However, Lime Resort's allure is marred by a fundamental oversight - a focus on superficial modernities like motorized curtains and an all-controlling tablet-which, though impressive, cannot compensate for the lack of attention to guest satisfaction and detail. It seems a case of ambition overreach, with efforts to exude a 5-star veneer distracted by the pursuit of profit over the genuine well-being of guests.
Lime Resort has the makings of a top-tier destination in El Nido, but a recalibration of priorities is imperative. Emphasis on quality, guest experience, and operational efficiency can transform potential into reality, moving beyond the superficial appeal of modernity to truly resonate with those who seek a...
Read moreFirst of all, never in my life have I left a negative review. This place was so terrible that I truly feel like I have to.
Firstly, upon check in we were given a room on the 7th floor which we thought was great because it is right next to the sky lounge (the ONLY positive aspect to this hotel). Downside, it was loud and you can hear everything going on in the sky lounge through your room.
We arrived at around 7-8PM from a 6 hour drive from puerto princessa, so all we wanted to do was shower, eat and rest. However, the key card was not working for about an hour, so we were just stuck waiting until they fixed that. Once we finally got to shower, the water that came out of the shower was yellow…. We had to wait 1mil to let the water run until it finally started running clear water. Then we realized the soap/shampoo dispensaries were empty. THEN obviously the logical thing to do was give the front desk a call BUT the phone did not work either…. So everything was finally resolved and we thought that would be the end of our problems…
We booked tour C through the hotel as we felt like it would be the most convenient… so we accepted the fact that we were paying a little more than going out and booking through one of the local booths. 1. They did not disclose to us that there would be several additional charges to this tour like rental for water shoes and snorkel, rental for the kayak, entrance to an island that was part of the tour. They also advised that there would be packed lunch for each tour guests but no it was buffet style, and of course there wasn’t enough food for all the tour guests.
But there’s way more… on the third day crazy amount of water started to leak from the ceiling and if we hadn’t been in the room at the time, all of our stuff would’ve been soaked! ONLY THEN did they finally decide to change us to a different room on the 8th floor which was not much different…
LASTLY, we booked a van transfer from the hotel back to puerto princessa… we needed to be at the airport for 4PM and we decided to book the van transfer for 930 as the drive may take 5-6 hours. So we wanted plenty of time. We were told that our hotel was the LAST pick up and that we would be heading to the airport upon pick up. THE VAN PICKED US UP AT 930AM AND PROCEEDED TO PICK UP SEVERAL GUESTS AROUND EL NIDO TOWN THEN HEADED BACK TO OUR HOTEL TO PICK UP THE NEXT SET OF PASSENGERS THAT BOOKED THE 11:00AM SLOT TIME. So what the was the point of picking us at 9:30AM?!?!?!
TRULY NOT WORTH IT. DO NOT BOOK. If you wanted to experience the sky lounge, stay elsewhere and just come to visit during sunset.
Truly one of the worst experiences...
