It is a much much better beach than El Nido beach, but then again, you can only go up from El Nido beach.
There are still dogs here and an abject lack of garbage disposal. Basically, there are no trash cans to throw away your coffee cups, cans, or whatever it is you want to throw away. This encourages people to dump their trash on the beach ground, which they shouldn't, but humans are humans. It does happen, and you do see it.
We saw a garbage dumping ground used by several resorts on the island. It is located on the island where the zipline ends. There, you will see hundreds of plastics, a discarded rusting fridge, etc. This is a shame.
Having said this, the beach is much wider than El Nido Beach. Enough space for you to enjoy the beach without the business occupying much of the beach so close to the shore. The businesses here are limited on nature, and they appear to harmonize with mother nature as one.
There is very limited shade here, so bring an umbrella as shades become scarce during peak hours.
The water is clean, and there is plenty of small fish by the shore showing the health of the water, while the sand is soft powdery brown.
We dis not see any peddlers/ vendors walking around selling stuff to people at the beach. The mall was small, and many spaces were unoccupied. This tells us that there isn't enough foot traffic here to support a thriving "mall" like business. McDonalds appear to be the busiest of them all.
There are no public restrooms, other than paid restrooms. Again, anti business policy like this...
Read moreItâs a beautiful beach, no doubtâsoft, light-colored sand and stunning small islands on the horizon. There are shaded areas available, and the setting itself is picturesque.
However, if youâre looking for snorkeling, this might not be the best spot, at least based on my visit - visibility was 0 and even if it was great, I doubt thereâd be any fishes there (at least in the first 100 meters).
The tide was low, making swimming difficult in many areas due to the shallow and rocky water. Walking for long distances wasnât easy on rocks, and the water was so shallow that I kept touching the bottom with my legs and belly.
The only place deep enough for swimming was on the right side of the beach after entering from the area near McDonaldâs and some stores. There were some signs to beware the jellyfish, but I didnât encounter one while swimming. I guess no jellyfish likes to swim in a muddy water. (Itâs been raining today).
On the plus side, parking near McDonaldâs is free, and thereâs no entrance fee for the beach.
While the scenery is beautiful, my rating is based on the swimming and snorkeling experience, which was very poor. So if you like your beach to have good swimming and snorkeling experience, there are other beaches here I am going to explore. If you like beautiful sceneries, good sunsets, donât mind people and bars on the beach and donât really care about swimming or snorkeling, this beach would be...
