La Mermaid el nido — Restaurant in El Nido

I recognize the pictures from 3 different locations. Something is not right here. I'm trying to rate the hotel. Seems he has it listed as 'permanently closed' so people can't give him a bad rating. Here is mine:

A Romantic Nightmare

I recently stayed at this hotel in El Nido that was supposed to be a romantic getaway for my partner and me. However, the lack of running water made it anything but romantic.

The hotel was clean, but the sand from the beach was difficult to remove without water. This meant that we were constantly covered in sand, even when we were trying to get ready for bed or go out for dinner. which made us feel dirty and uncomfortable. This was especially problematic for me, as I had digestive issues and needed to use the toilet without water frequently. They overcharge for water so we had to bring bottled water for showers from town.

The owner of the hotel was unapologetic about the lack of water. He said that it was "normal" for the water to be foul, even from the shower. He lied to me and threatened me and my girlfriend.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone, especially couples who are looking for a romantic getaway. The lack of running water made our stay anything but enjoyable, and the owner's attitude was completely unacceptable. not even a slight refund or discount. This man is a theif.

I am very disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The owner has no business being in the hospitality industry, and I would urge anyone who is considering staying here...

Hmm, a 5 star rating based off of 4 reviews from people that have only ever reviewed one place. Don't be fooled. Very poor service. A server named Sheryl (cheryl) that is as rude as can be. She demanded we pay when our breakfast was included even after she checked. We had to get the manager involved and she just scowled at us.They never got our orders correct. We ate there 3 times because breakfast was included and there was always items missing and the food, and especially the bacon was sketchy. They gave our spring rolls to the wrong table who took one and then they tried to give it to us anyways. Wth!! Don't drink the “service water”. Insist on bottle water.
