Stayed here for 2 nights for a wedding of a friend.
Check in - security personnel were very polite in assisting us from drop off to the parking space even reserve the parking slot when we advise that we are staying for 2 nights and we are worried if we can still have a slot if we go out to go to the church and come back for the reception since the frontdesk advise that it is a first come first serve basis in the parking.
Location - the hotel is near the gate of intramuros and it is easy to take a tour go to other places which is very accessible even if you take a public transport
Staff - upon check in we ask for an assistance to carry our luggage but the staff who assist us just bump our bags in the wall in the cabinet and we end up helping him out instead. It is hard to call the housekeeping for assistance. We even called 2-3 follow ups to the frontdesk before someone send our request. You should have a very long patience and waiting time before you get served. The staff will not attend you immediately especially when you are a local tourist. You can feel the isolation of foreigner and local from the staff in the frontdesk to the staff in the penthouse. They are also letting the intern assist the guest without proper supervision and giving an incorrect information to the guests and the managers were not even apologetic with their mistakes. Lastly the frontdesk even ask the guard for other checkout and parking policy which is not appropriate. A frontdesk staff should know better than other staffs because they are one welcoming and the first and last touch of the guests.
Food - Complimentary breakfast buffet is not ok. The egg is not fresh, full of fried and process food, less selections, nuggets, chicken longganisa and everyday arroz caldo serving which is very bland. Coffee is a bit acidic, hot choco taste like ovaltine with milk and not a real tsokolate as expected. Fruits were dry and sweet ham is a bit chewy taste like it was thawed from the freezer for couple of days.
Room - 1st night the beddings were a bit itchy, the towels were a bit grayish, we ask for a slippers but the frontdesk advise that it is not included in the accomodation and you need to pay for extra 35 pesos each person to have one. First time to hear that in a hotel accomodation. No laundry bag and they only give us a trash bag since their supplies for the laundry bag is not available. The light is quite din in the nights time no center white light for the night. We requested for a city view but we end up a view beside the LPU roofdeck. We also need to request for our toiletries. On the 2nd day they did not refill the hand towels.
Overall our stay is not worth it for money even for the experience and surely we will never come back. This is one of the overated hotels...
Read moreWe chose to stay at The Bayleaf Hotel Intramuros because of its proximity to Intramuros attractions as well as the airport. The staff members were incredibly accommodating and responsive. Prior to our flight, we contacted them via email to arrange an airport pickup, and they promptly replied. The driver who picked us up was exceptionally kind. The hotel staff, including the security guards, were approachable and ensured that we never had to open the door ourselves. They would eagerly come running to assist us as soon as they saw us approaching the building, always ready to open the door for us with a smile 😊 Additionally, the room service was impressively quick. Despite being on the fifth floor, whenever I made a request, they responded promptly. At times, I even wondered if the room service was exclusively dedicated to our floor 😅 The air conditioning worked perfectly, and both the toilet and shower had a strong flow of water. During checkout, they went above and beyond by helping us arrange a Grab taxi since I was unable to open the Grab app.
The penthouse restaurant was clean, and the food was excellent. However, compared to other restaurants, it was a bit pricey.
Another aspect I appreciated was the hotel's proximity to a 7-Eleven and street food stalls. This was particularly convenient for satisfying any cravings for Filipino street food.
The only drawback I encountered was that our room lacked a window for proper ventilation. Despite being in a non-smoking room, I could occasionally detect a hint of tobacco and a mix of cement in the air. Fortunately, I had a room air fragrance to mitigate the issue.
I would like to extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the staff members of The Bayleaf Hotel Intramuros. Your outstanding service is truly commendable. Please continue the excellent work you...
Read moreI had a really fabulous stay here! I only stayed for one night, since I had a 16-hour layover in Manila on my way from the US to China where I will be doing research for a few months.
The Bayleaf staff made me feel very safe, which was the most important factor for me given I am a young solo female traveler. I am VERY glad that I arranged airport transportation with them in advance because many men were approaching me and offering me rides in unregistered taxi cars and on motorcycles. I highly recommend their airport transportation service to foreigners so you don't have to worry about being scammed or ending up in an unsafe situation.
My room was simple but elegant and very comfortable. Breakfast at The Bayleaf was truly the best hotel breakfast I have ever had in my life. I especially loved the beef tapas, garlic rice, and marble potatoes, as well as the fresh tropical fruit. All of the staff were very warm, friendly, and accomodating, and treated me super respectfully even though I look like a child.
The location was perfect for a quick stay, since it is right next to Fort Santiago, and a short walk to other famous tourist sights, like the Manila Cathedral. I had a great time doing some exploring in the morning before I had to leave for the airport.
Overall I loved my experience here. The only hiccup was my driver initially dropped me off at the wrong terminal for my departing flight, so I came a little close to missing it. Luckily he came back for me when I called him, and everything ended up working out. I will definitely stay here again if I ever...
