Already at our 2nd visit with a group of friends. Rented the mini villa which can easily house 12 - 15 people. The two villa rooms are spacious with good air conditioning, individual bathrooms (cold shower only) double size bed and a folding sofa-bed to easily accommodate up to 5 medium size persons. The living area has your typical 32' LCD TV with two very large couches which can be used for sleeping. Amenities also include a dining table, hot&cold water dispenser, kitchen with plates and utensils, mini fridge, and an outdoor dining area and dirty kitchen. They also have smaller rooms for twin and quad sharing as well as cabanas which are elevated and can be slept on if you wish to sleep outdoors.||||The beach has fine sand, not white but turns creamy white brown on sunny days. Very little waves which is perfect for families with small kids. You can rent a boat to reach the nearby island for 1500 (good for 10 people) with an entrance fee of 25php/head. The island has a small beach under a cliff which provides a nice shade and a place to set your things. The beach here has white sand with small pebbles and corals, waves are also not that big which is perfect for snorkeling and seeing the corals near by. Just be aware that boats are constantly docking especially during weekends or on peak seasons so be extra careful. Back to the main cove, there is now a nearby floating playground with an entrance fee. It's quite new so you may want to check it out.||||Overall the Sand Bar Beach resort is just your average resort but what makes it remarkable is its owner Ma'am Grace and her staff. She is very accommodating and very kind. All her staff are also quick to attend to your needs and they do make sure that you have everything you need to enjoy your stay. My friends were quite impressed with their service and are already planning their own outing. Visit their facebook page and all of their reviews applaud their exceptional staff and service. You may find better looking resorts in the area but if you choose those over Sandbar, you'll be missing out of this resort's...
Read moreWe went here last Summer of 2015. We came in a big family with little kids in tow and we stayed at the bungalow house, which had two air-conditioned bedrooms en-suite toilet on each. We were greeted warmly upon arrival and waited a bit while the house was being cleaned. The house though small is quite roomy and we felt at home quite quickly. The parents house of the owner is located just beside the bungalow house we rented. They have a small sari-sari store where you can buy cold drinks and some foods, they're very welcoming and warm.||||Its about 50 meters to the beach, the property is fenced they have tables under the shades of trees which was a plus because we had a 5 month baby with us. We went there on Sunday and the next day (Monday) we had the whole area to ourselves! Even the beach.||||Calayo cove is a fishing village, and many locals and visitors come over for the weekend. While the cove is beautiful the sight of trash along the beach is quite a turnoff. No white sands here, but the sea is quite nice, especially if you walk to the far left. There is a rip current on the spot right in front of Sand Bar, nit advisable for kids and those who do not know how to swim.||||Overall we had a nice stay at Sand Bar. Its great for big families opting for a quick roadtrip and...
Read more"Balcony" (no furniture) is the stairwell landing where everyone passes all day, view of beach from so-called "balcony" is obstructed by a needless rooftop. Karaoke from 7:20am until after 10pm, with competitive screeching at loud volumes almost all day with no letup. No where to sit on beach except the bath towel from the room. No hot water. No hair dryer. Not even a chair in room to sit on. No internet and sometimes not even cellular connection. Food quality is poor, though they will bring it to your room. Staff doesn't maintain the property during stay, leaving mud all over landings/stairs, blocked drainage during rain (I had to drain a flooded balcony myself!), room floods under door, room not serviced during stay. ||Unless you drive here with your car packed full of kids, your own food to cook in the kitchen, your own karaoke machine, and don't care about noise or privacy, you will not feel welcome here. For the price I paid, this was a horrible ripoff. Sad because the owner is clearly trying to make it nice, with nice touches, but needs more than that, including more constant vigilance by staff. This is the worst stay in the Philippines I...
