Be AWARE, IT`s A TRAP
Upon checking in here I contacted the hotel on email asking if they had vacant rooms. The Germaroze, or Germs Hotel as I call them, replied that they had ÂŤmany vacant roomsÂť, as so we didnât book upfront. Mostly we didnât do this because the hotel does not have booking options at their website, as their website looks like something that was made during the 90s and as thus has no booking functionality.
Arriving at the hotel we are met with staff that barely speak English that barely was able to explain to us that they do not have available rooms for us to stay in for more than 1 day.
We chose to check in as we needed to a place to stay and we also needed internet to contact the owner to try and sort this out. Hoping that it was maybe a misunderstanding with the staff that barely spoke English. We were told that they MIGHT have another room for us tomorrow. Clearly a chance we wouldnât take.
No ref, forget about keeping your water cool
The pool is very dirty
Staff does not speak English
Wifi is very slow
The service is even slower than their wifi
Aircon (A/C) is very noisy
Their chars and seating for guests are greasy and dirty
Place and surrounding look very run-down
No hot shower
Summary: This is a pretend hotel, as neither the manager nor the staff has any idea what so ever what service level or business is.
1 hour after we checked in we could not manage to stay there anymore, that was after I emailed the owner and let them know about what we experienced and tried to sort it out with the pretend manager.
At this point I was pretty agitated, as such I throwed my weight around and let them know that I am a tripadvisor level 5 top contributor and a social media influencer. I did so in hope that the manager would understand I might not be the guest to piss off.
The complete joke of a manager replied they did not helped guest who ÂŤthreatenÂť them. It was enough, we checked out.
When you manage to piss off your customers this much in under 1 hour you ARE DOING SOMETHING VERY WRONG!
Before leaving the Germs Hotel we ate at the Germs Restaurant, or that place they have that pretends it is a restaurant which is in fact something completely different, hard to say exactly what. The food, being cooked by the Germ staff was horrible and expensive.
Seriously, do NOT check in here! The hotel right beside has lower rates, better service and nicer...

Usually when you see places they never look as good as the pictures but I think this place was the other way around.
The rooms were comfortable, spacious and clean. The view is amazing. You are practically right on the ocean. I mean in order for your stay here to be impeccable you must stay in the sea front rooms, I'm not sure I would enjoy staying in any of the other rooms in this hotel.. though you still have access to chill in any of the lounge areas on the property, which are comfortable and provide you the sea view you are after.
3 rocking chairs on the top deck, a cozy sofa to hangout on, 3 not so comfortable pool loungers, a restaurant which is facing the pool and ocean with plenty of seating choices.
The hotel reminds me of a very old vintage style mansion or something. It's interesting.
The staff were very helpful, our tricycle driver arranged by the hotel gave us very helpful information and personally took us through the whale sharks lineup to save time and waited while we snorkeled and held our stuff.
Besides the look of the tiny menu they have for food, it was actually pretty good. We ordered the grilled chicken and fries twice and breakfast was the same as usual, eggs, toast and fruit. All so cheap though you can't complain. Free coffee and tea all day!
We extended our stay here 1 extra night and were happy we did. You can swim in the ocean too off of steps they have. Very shallow but it's nice to chill in the soft sand.
This hotel is situated right next to the busy highway so you will definitely here traffic noise but we didn't find it annoying if we closed our bathroom door.
Definitely...
Read moreStayed for a night. points: -Great location if you want to be early for the whale sharks. -Can walk down to the ocean for swimming. -Get the room with the ocean view. -Terrace for chilling -Easy walk 'downtown' where you have a 7-11, money changer, and a few restaurants.
points: -Staff were friendly but it was very hard to find someone at the reception and one of the staff seemed really confused when we asked about taxi and whale sharks (even though i assume these would be the most frequently asked questions by tourists) -Water pressure in the shower was really bad.. even though we did not expect much for island accommodations. At some point the water would even stop for a few seconds before coming back. -Aircon was very noisy. We had to stop it in the middle of the night and dug out the fan from the closet. -Breakfast was expensive and not worth it. Also on the menu picture there were fruits and juice in the set but they never came with our food. The coffee was powder made so nothing exceptional and they also said no when I asked if I could have it iced.
Overall the view and ocean was nice but the rest was disappointing even though we did not have high expectations. There are a whole stretch of other accommodations along the same road (so with the same view and ocean) so we would probably choose somewhere else if we were to go...
