You get what you pay for. We stayed in the two bedroom apartment. The water dispenser have mosquito larvae wiggling inside it, the extra mattress provided were stained and extra the sheets, blankets and pillow cases provided were very worn. The bathroom/shower stink and hair blocked the drainage. We had to buy our own cleaning product so it is clean enough for us to use (despite that, the kids refused to wash up in there). The stove was working but it needs a thorough scrub or replacement. The covered rack for the plates is mouldy, we had to wash it to use it. Also, the door connecting it to the other room is just "taped" sealed, using clear packaging tape. The next door TV can be heard as they were loud. I left a comment with these mentioned on the booking site and the owner/manager was confrontational.
New reply: Whether you are listed as the cheapest or not, it does not excuse you for providing a bad product/service. Basic does not mean very worn, stained, old and ill fitting. Customers should not have to be bothered with calling or looking for staff so they can replace the water in that dispenser. If we did not see that larvae and we drank from what you consider as clean water and had gotten sick, do you really think we will not sue you or complain to the...
Read moreIf you find yourself in Panglao and you happen to be on a budget, you may consider staying in Gaea's Apartment. The room rate is cheaper compared to other neighboring hotels. Also, even if breakfast is not included, they offer room service based on the menu of nearby restaurants or you can go to these restaurants yourself as they are within walking distance. You may also opt to cook as there is a kitchenette equipped with electric stove and cookwares. There is free parking space and free wi-fi connection. The only issue we encountered is that the fare going to Alona Beach is a bit pricey (on our standard) that is 150 pesos per trip. So, if you are to commute back and forth, then, you'll have to pay 300 pesos. What we did is we tried to haggle the fare and there are tricycle drivers who charged us for 100 pesos. White Beach is nearby (according to google maps) and you may choose to go there instead of Alona Beach, but we weren't...
Read moreThe best little bamboo hut we have stayed in. Great value for money! Comes with a sink and fridge and a little kitchen area attached. Bed is comfy, tv as well. As well as a gorgeous dog that loves cuddles and little cat that was so friendly to hang out with us each day. |Bathroom was pretty good too! Shower is basic. |Gaea’s is about 2km from Alona Beach. But walking distance to white beach and in my opinion that’s nicer. There’s no where to really eat that’s the only downfall, you can jump on the back of a moto for 40P into Alona or if you have your own bike it’s easy. There is little corner/convenience shops though next to Gaea’s. ||I would definitely stay...
