I stayed at Hotel Sogo Wood Street in August 2025 for a short layover, chosen for its proximity to Ninoy Aquino International Airport (just 1.2 miles away). The location is ideal for travelers needing a quick stop near the airport. Check-in was a bit slow, which was frustrating after a long flight. The lack of an elevator to the second-floor Deluxe room was a major hassle, especially with heavy luggage. The narrow metal stairs were difficult to navigate and felt unsafe. The Deluxe room was spacious and clean, with a decent bed, fresh-smelling sheets, pillows, and towels. The bathroom was clean, and I appreciated the provided toiletries and two bottles of drinking water. Free Wi-Fi worked well, but the TV was old and kept disconnecting from the internet, which was annoying. The air conditioning was a mixed bagâit cooled the room but was positioned on the left wall by the bed, blowing cold air directly on my head. I had to sleep with my head on the footboard to avoid getting a headache. The toilet also had a flushing issue, which was inconvenient. Overall, itâs a budget-friendly option with a great location for airport travelers, but the lack of an elevator, toilet issues, and poorly placed aircon detracted from the experience. Iâd rate it 6.5/10âgood for a cheap, short stay, but not ideal if you have heavy luggage or need reliable amenities. Iâd consider returning for a quick layover but would hope for fixes to...

Read moreI made a booking through Agoda for June 13 to 16, 2024. Despite the stereotype of SOGO hotels being associated with short-term pleasures, I decided to book a stay based on the positive reviews of SOGO hotels in the provinces before my trip abroad. Although the hallway was dirty and narrow, likely due to ongoing renovations, the room itself was nice. However, I was disappointed to find that there was no WiFi connection in the room, and I couldn't use my mobile data due to poor reception. The room had a cigarette smell, possibly from previous guests smoking inside. Uncomfortable with the situation, I checked out after only three hours and moved to another hotel. Regrettably, I realized I had left my Samsung A50 in the room. When I inquired with the receptionist and supervisor, they claimed the phone was not found. I was certain I had left it there, as I had asked them to connect it to the hotel's...
