Great value for money considering the low price (we paid 122€ for 6 nights. ~7470PHP).
The room was incredibly super clean (no cockroaches during our stay, not even 1, just some mosquitos).
We had room 208, which is a queen size room and it was on the small size, but we saw they had bigger rooms available at a slightly higher price. I really suggest to invest more pesos for the bigger rooms, especially if you are a couple.
They provide towels, a kit with toothbrush + handsoap bar + toothpaste and a sachet with shampoo with conditioner, and complimentary water on check-in. There's free WiFi (quite reliable) and a smart TV (HiSense) with Netflix and YouTube. Unfortunately they don't provide a hair-dryer or a mini-fridge.
Note: it's forbidden to use things like a rice cooker, just in case you plan to cook some food in room. Plenty of food around though and at the end of Evangelista street there's even a McDonald's.
Staff was friendly and helpful.
Location: well it's not your average Makati neighborhood. Let's say the place is quite "humble" and at first it didn't make me feel safe to walk around at late night (something you can do in more central Makati). But that was my first impression. In fact, after a few days I realized the area is quite safe and the barangay people really check the area out to see if everything is in order. Didn't experience anything strange. Despite that the hotel was hosting quite a few Western and Japanese young folks and backpackers.
Highly suggested for people travelling on a budget.
The only things missing were:
• NO hair-dryer • NO mini-fridge • NO elevator • Problem with the shower electrical heater (the water came out too hot due to low water pressure I guess and there was no way to lower the heater under the minimum, so I had to constantly switch...
Read moreThis is actually my second time staying at RedDoorz Plus @ Evangelista Street Makati, and once again, it was a convenient and comfortable choice—especially since I had an appointment at the Visa Services office in Alphaland Southgate Mall, which is just nearby plus it's just few minutes ride to the NAIA Airport Terminal 2
I stayed in one of their suite rooms, and it was spacious, clean, and had all the basic essentials I needed. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the little towel decorations on top—small gestures like that make a difference. The room had a couch, a dining table, a vanity area, a fridge, and a TV, which made the stay more homey.
The bathroom was clean and had decent space too. Water pressure was okay, and the hot water worked well. While the interior is simple and slightly dated in some areas, everything was neat and in working order.
What I liked most is how accessible the location is—not only for visa appointments but also for food and transport. If you’re looking for a budget-friendly stay that’s clean and conveniently located, this place is worth considering.
Overall, it was a smooth stay, and I wouldn’t mind coming back again if I have another appointment...
Read moreWe had a very disappointing experience with this hotel. First of all, the lobby had no working air-conditioning, which made it extremely uncomfortable to stay there. The woman at the front desk spoke very poor English, which made it difficult to communicate.
We booked through Booking.com but accidentally selected the wrong date, as we were feeling unwell and urgently needed a place to stay. We politely explained the situation and asked to change the date, especially since we had already checked that rooms were available.
The receptionist told us she couldn’t do anything, and that she wasn’t able to contact the head office either. She said that no one could approve a date change. In the end, we had to contact the head office ourselves, where we were told the date could not be changed — without any clear explanation.
To make matters worse, the staff member at reception was rude and dismissive, which made the situation even more stressful. We were not asking for a refund — just to shift the booking by one day. The lack of flexibility, professionalism, and empathy left us with a very...
