DZR Guest House — Hotel in Puerto Princesa

A colleague of mine suggested this place because it is near the city center and clean. I contacted the owner's daughter to make a reservation. I reserved 3 rooms since there are 8 of us. 2 rooms for 3 pax and 1 room for 2 pax. ||||The room is nice and clean, there's a small television and cabinet. The bathroom is clean with hot and cold shower and toiletries. The air conditioner in room 4 is not that cold so we asked ate Josie (hotel staff) to fix the a/c for us. It did get colder after 2 hours just in time since we were about to go to sleep. Breakfast is okay, there are 3 choices - corned beef, dangit and tocino with egg, fried rice with your choice of coffee/juice. Breakfast is served on the 2nd floor where the bar is. You can also grab a few beers/cocktails in their mini bar, but you have to inform ate Josie before hand so they can make sure that they have what we need. ||||This is a family owned business and only has 8 rooms. Room rate is very affordable! A quiet place to stay in, they also lock their gates at 10pm, so if you will stay out late, you just need to call ate Josie to open the gates for you. It is just like being at home :)||||It is close to the city center, souvenir shops, restaurants and churches. The only thing that is a benefit to this place is the location. There were just too many things wrong for a better review. There was no hot water (this wasn't a bad thing most days). our room faced the road and we hear ever scooter, bus and barking dog as if the window and door were open! Very loud the internet does work but it's about 2.5 gb per second for the download speeds and .4 for upload. they do have breakfast options that are inexpensive. The quality is barely better than the price the ladies that work here are very nice but don't speak English very well so that made it hard to have a better experience. This guesthouse is far beyond our expectations.
