Libis Bayview Hotel — Hotel in Puerto Princesa

I booked this hotel through Agodas Secret Hotels. According to them this is supposed to be a 3* hotel with a pool - this is absolutely not a 3* hotel and as for it having a pool - the reason we decided to go for it - well 'sky pool' as it was advertised! It is nothing more than a bath sized paddling pool with no outdoor space whatsoever to sit and relax. It's a joke that they would even advertise this as having a pool - anyone wanting a pool to relax at don't choose this hotel.||As for the bedrooms, Agodas secret deal stated 3* Deluxe room at a hotel with a pool - Deluxe room, they must be joking. The first room they put us in had 2 beds, one single and one extremely small double - 4ft. The double was wedged in against a wall at the side and the bottom - so you can imagine the size of the room. Tiny. No floor space, no place for luggage, no wardrobe or shelves, nothing. It was like a prison cell. Yes it had a/c and a tv but nothing else - sorry, it had a carpet, just what you need when it's 34* outside. If this was their 'deluxe' room I shudder to think what the others looked like!!. We asked to get moved to a larger room , now this was luxury - it had a wooden shelve if our luggage and a tiny bit more floor space...how Agoda would even consider this to be a 3* property I will never know. I have stayed in many 2 star properties all over the far east that are superior to this. ||The location is also a joke, far out of the town centre, along a side street off the main road. The area has practically no shops to buy supplies, or restaurants. Really poor.||Having said that the staff are very nice, breakfast was ok - eggs - and the place is immaculate - but it is NOT a far east 3* hotel by any stretch of the imagination - this is more like a hostel. My parents had booked this hotel for the 3 of us for a total of 6 nights. We stayed here for only 1 night even though we couldn't refund our payment for the 5 other nights. The room is small and cramped with not much room to put luggage. The bathroom was extremely small and strange. The sink was in the shower and there was no shower curtain. The taps to use the shower were confusing so none of us showered as we could not be bothered getting water all over the floor and having such a small place to wash. The sink only has cold water. |There is no elevator so we had to carry our luggage up the stairs. The air conditioner was noisy inadequate and we were sweating all night even on full blast. |As for the cleanliness... I don't think the floor was properly swept as there were little grains on my feet. The small wooden bench next to the bottom bunk was covered in black dust. While I was reading in bed, I was continuously killing ants that were crawling in my bed. The small refrigerator smelt really bad. |All this aside, the staff were very helpful and friendly, offering to buy us food and offering to carry our bags up the stairs, ect. Stayed in this hotel from 3rd-6th January 2017. When we arrived at Puerto Princesa Airport and our hotel van driver was already waiting for us (I wasn't sure he was waiting for us because the cardboard he was holding was written as Libis Bayview instead of my last name). Arrived at the hotel and it looked nice. We got a family room with 1 double bed and 1 twin double deck bed it's not so big but it wasn't bad at all. Went swimming on the rooftop and the pool was quite clean (my son really enjoyed it) but I hated it because they didn't properly cleaned the floor with broken beer bottles and that's the time I stepped on a tiny one and had a cut on my left foot (my cut wasn't that bad but I can hardly walk) so I reported the issue to the front desk and she asked someone to clean it. Food was nice but it would be better if they have more varieties of foods. Wifi connection sucks, it never worked in the room so I have to go down to the lobby just to used wifi. All the staff were so nice and helpful that's why I gave 3Stars. |Next time when we come back, I'm still thinking to stay here but I hope they have elevator in the future because it's hard to go up in the rooms if you have a...
