|Frankly, we were very skeptical about our Philippines tour after reading online reviews that the place is not very safe, language is a huge problem etc. But what we experienced in the entire Philippines is exactly the opposite of what we had read. Philipinos are so friendly and full of life. We experienced this at Julieta Pension house.||As promised, they arranged pick-up from Puerto Princesa airport. The driver was waiting with the placard. We were 8 of us and they greeted us with a good welcome drink. As soon as we settled, the lady who looks after this hotel, Jinky, who is sooo good with what she does, explained the itinerary for our entire stay. She took care of the smallest of the things including charging points, WiFi, what kind of place it is, what to wear, what not to wear, Dos and Donts. ||Philippines is a very difficult place for Vegans and vegetarians as there are absolutely limited options for us. She arranged vegetarian breakfast and dinner for us vegetarians. We are eternally grateful to Jinky. She accompanied us to the night firefly watching, facilitated us in getting tickets too.||Coming to the Stay at Julieta, this is the best budget stay you can find in Puerto Princesa. |Pros:|Airport pick-up/drop-off by the hotel|Close to airport|Clean rooms and great hospitality by Julieta|Cons:|As I said earlier, very limited options for Vegans|Very small rooms||And finally, due to hurry burry itinerary, one of our friend had left behind his baggage in the hotel. We called her and told her about this. She asked us where was our next destination, got a few taxi drivers contacts, gave the parcel to them and it reached us in the same state/shape that it was. I have travelled across the globe and I have never seen anyone going to this extent to help someone. |Jinky and Julieta is purely generosity at...
Read moreOur room was ok for one night. But we couldn't find our hotel pick up at the airport pick up area. After 45 min of waiting, we were the only ones. We walked around, asked several people... in the end we took a tricycle for 150. When we reached the hotel, the lady told us that her husband waited in the waiting area with a sign. He even wore a bright yellow shirt. We 100% would have seen him there if he was there so we think he just waited somewhere in the car. They didn't offer us the 150 back. The man didn't even say hello or apologised when he came back. Very frustrating after our long flight. We had hairs in our sink too and cheap thin polyester blankets. Anyways they helped us to get a van pick up to El Nido on the following day and the lady was very friendly. But all in all very frustrating because of the airport situation...
Read moreI recently stayed at Julieta's Pension House in Puerto Princesa and had a generally pleasant experience. The rooms, though a bit old and in need of some updates, were clean and comfortable enough for a short stay. The location is convenient as it's near the airport, but it's set back enough that you'll need to travel a bit to reach the main road, making it a bit isolated.
One of the standout aspects of this place is the hospitality. The attendant was very nice and accommodating, always ready to assist with any requests. Overall, it's a decent budget option if you’re looking for a quiet place to stay near the airport, though don’t expect...
