The place is amazing! Tucked away into the corner of a strip mall consisting of all sorts of restaurants, stores, and a plethora of services, MeetUp stands out by emanating a cozy yet elegant atmosphere both inside and out. Every item on their menu slaps - I know because in the short one-week vacation that we were there for, we must have gone back four or five times! From invigorating breakfasts and decadent lunches to scrumptious and filling dinners, their versatility as a café and bar truly shines when the sun goes down and the moon joins you for the night. Their full bar houses domestic familiars as well as Western favorites, and the bar chow is phenomenal! You can't go wrong with anything the chef recommends (has a chef's hat icon by the name). But my personal favorites were: Breakfast: Corned Beef Hash and Taggy's Fave Smoothie Lunch: Monte Cristo Sandwich with a side of Fries Dinner: Pork Knuckle Kare-kare and Pork Back Ribs. Don't forget the rice! Pulutan: Pork Sisig, Nachos, Baked Mussels, Savory Fried Chicken, Crispy Lechon Belly Drinks: Without even looking at the menu, I went with my favorite go-to: an Old Fashioned. It was well-crafted with just the perfect amount of sweetness to compliment the bourbon. The fact that it was off-menu but the bartender was able to put it together told me that they are a skilled and knowledgeable mixology indeed. The Tandikan is a beautiful and deceivingly delicious shooter. If you're one for table photos and short videos, the Tandikan is sure to turn heads and give you an amazing shot - pun intended.
Location: it's right in front of the airport! Whether you're coming or going, it is in such a convenient spot to get refreshed after traveling or to pre-game before a trip. There is a tricycle terminal conveniently located at the entrance/exit to the strip mall that MeetUp is in, so getting a ride is no trouble whatsoever. There is also a security guard so you're safe from any potential troublemakers.
Pricing: at between $4-$10 U.S. for the quality and amount of food you're getting, it feels like stealing!
DO NOT skip this place if you go to Palawan!
Lastly, be sure to ask for the manager, Jay, and tell him my review sent you. He was an absolute professional and made us all feel at home while taking care of not only our needs but those of the other tables as well. We look forward to our next visit to the Philippines and especially Palawan, as we already plan to make MeetUp our first stop upon arrival and our last stop before leaving!

Read moreFrankly, I thought this place was phenomenal and I am surprised that three people have somehow seen fit to award it a one star review. The fish and "chips" (the waitress explained that it would actually be French fries) was superb, perfectly deep fried with the fish being succulent and very fresh, and the batter was perfection. The fries were delicious and the plate came with three dips (tartar sauce, sweet chilli and tomato ketchup) so I didn't get bored of the flavours. My partner had the spicy chicken burger which was gigantic and the burger was really good with the jalapeño peppers which made it spicy. We paired it off with a pitcher of ice tea and the service was great, the place was immaculately clean, the food came quickly, the price was acceptable and overall this place is an easy 5 star experience. Will definitely...
Read moreEnded up here by chance, the place we had planned to go to was closed and this was across the way. Hadn’t got much expectations as it just looked like an average cafe type of place but we were pleasantly surprised! We ordered the spicy chicken burger and the pesto pasta. The pesto pasta was very tasty and exactly what was wanted and came with 3 pieces of garlic bread. The spicy chicken burger was delicious, large piece of freshly fried crispy chicken ,cheddars cheese, spicy mayo, jalapeños, onions, tomato and I added bacon. Really good burger probably the best I’ve had on our trip around Asia so far! Would definitely eat here again.
Unfortunately was too hungry to...
