The shower wasn't very pleasant, mould in the corners and base of the shower is not what you want in your shower. The shower handles were old and corroded- definitely require exchange the same as the poor cracked and old tiles. The bathroom was definitely the worst part of the accommodation. The size of the room was very good though, lighting was on good level. Room was generally clean, but unfortunately the impression of the cleanliness was spoiled by old and dirty looking bathroom. We were staying during the festive period so none of the facilities offered by the hotel as Spa or swimming pool were available (even though the room brochure says the spa is available in bank holidays). The staff was generally ok, apart from one of the receptionist who stopped us on our way to the room the next night after checking in(stopped us when we were already on the lift) asking us which room are we from without giving a reason for that question. I thought we will have to show our IDs to be allowed to get to the room. When I gave our room number and asked if there is any problem the receptionist said just "no" and walked away...I find it rather strange staying in many hotels over the past years we would never be asked on the entrance to the room if we have a right to be here.... I do understand the security reasons, however giving the fact we were not making any noise or trouble walking to the room that's quite disrespectful. Overall I think this hotel is too expensive for what it offers. Location is not great as the city centre is quite far, but I guess the benefit will be the close located airport. We were staying in nicer hotels in Lodz in the strict centre for this money or even way cheaper... If you are not desperate to find accommodation near to the airport it's better if you probably stay somewhere else as you may be...
Read moreWe had the misfortune to stay here for a wedding. The hotel is stuck in a 1970s time warp. There was no hot water, we had to ask 4 times for it to be turned. A fellow guest told us, he had been having cold showers for the previous two days. The air conditioning was switched off. The hotel outdoor pool which we thought great, turned out to be a joke. We were told it was not open as it had not been cleaned (we went in June!). However people were still bravely swimming! In fact ducks were swimming on it and using it a duck pond, complete with duck poo around the pool. Sun loungers were all dirty (you had to clean your own!) and broken. The Jacuzzi in the indoor pool was completely cold. I had been told the food in Poland isn't great, so the low expectations were met. The waiter was stressed coping with 2 tables!! We ordered the hot brie with cranberry but appeared with no cranberry. The popular words, when we asked for things was, "that could be a problem!" At breakfast, you couldn't have toast - they don't own a toaster!! On our second morning, the cleaner couldn't be bothered to clean our room. the only evidence of being in our room, was putting the bedspread on the bed (which we had stored away in the cupboard, as it was too hot!). It was the most depressing hotel, I have ever stayed it. I would avoid...
Read moreAlthough the hotel sells the carnet for their sauna & swimming pool, you are not able to use them if the weather is good!! It is unbelievable, but after I bought this carnet worth 110zl, I have been able to use it only once. After the 4th attempt of using the sauna during the provided working hours of the service, finally the receptionist explained that the hotel closes their internal swimming pool if the weather is good (where is the sense in that?), and only leave their external pool available. And then, the hotel does not allow you to use this carnet for their external swimming pool, forcing you to pay at least 50 zł more a day. When I asked about using the sauna & pool during the hours where the service is supposed to be provided (this service hours are available in their webpage), the hotel told me to wait for a bad weather! If it rains, I can use it, as they close the external swimming pool. When asked for a refund, they told me no. After insisting, they said to contact the manager, and gave me a telephone that DOES NOT WORK. I will definitely contact with the Biuro Ochrony praw konsumenta, because this whole situation is beyond absurd and beyond human...
