Just returned from a relaxing break at the Glenridge resort. ||On arrival, room was not ready so we walked into town while the room was prepared for us. This took about 10_15 mins to the nearest supermarket. 15-20 mins walk to nearest beach which is a lovely clean beach with beds and parasols to hire. Stopped at a friendly local cafe/bar for a refreshing beer. We were given a spacious downstairs apartment which had a large furnished terrace and overlooked the peaceful and pleasant well tended gardens complete with lovely willow trees. Shutters on the windows and patio doors provided security. No safe provided in room. Clean rooms but cleaners only seemed to come in daily to empty the bathroom bins etc and didn’t make up beds during our stay. Not a big deal tho to be honest. There was a step inside the apartment that lead from the hall down into the living room which may be an issue for wheelchair users so ask the management if all the lower floor apartments are like this........ Beds were a bit uncomfortable as mentioned in a few previous reviews. Also, we only had a total of 4 coat hangers between 4 wardrobes! Impossible to bring yr own if travelling light these days, so a few more would be a big help. Kitchen well equipped with usual essentials incl a fab microwave and a dishwasher which was great. Dish tabs were provided as was a kitchen towel and tea cloth. plentiful hot water /showers etc . You can borrow irons and hairdryers from reception. Swimming pool and surrounding area was really nice, very clean and had plentiful beds but lacked parasols. Water lovely and clean. Play area for kids. The bar and restaurant was hardly open during our stay so cannot comment on that. All the staff were friendly and really helpful. Luggage storage provided . Private car parking space provided. A car is recommended as the apartments are quite isolated with the nearest restaurant being approx 15 mins walk. (Sao domingos is first class,) . No entertainment at night and no shops so this place is good if you are looking for a...
Read moreI stayed here as a bit of a chill after a work week in Lisbon. This place has everything, really nice apartments 10 minutes walk from many beautiful beaches with stylish bars and restaurants, Beaches very close by are Gale, Lourenço, Salgados, Evaristo (watch the rich and famous anchor their yachts offshore and come in for a glass of champagne) Castello and São Raphael all overlooking amazing sunsets. You can have a sandwich or a Michelin star meal on the beach at Gale. The restaurant on site, Scenarium is decorated in a very eclectic style, and offers Italian style food, pizza, pasta along side fish and steaks with amazing cocktails at very reasonable prices. The gym on site with its two PTs offer extremely professional instruction (book in advance to make sure you’re not disappointed!!). The apartments all based around the pool are fully equipped and very comfortable. Receptionists extremely helpful and accommodating. All in all this complex and it’s setting has everything. Oh I didn’t mention, Salgados golf course literally 5 mins away in the car if that floats your boat. I would very...
Read moreI recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights ||||The apartment was spotless!! very very clean the bedding smelt amazingly fresh and it was very spacious.||||The pool was brilliant very well maintained and the cleaning staff were so polite and friendly.||||The only negative reviews i have is the restaurant based on the complex - It was very over priced for the portions you got and the food wasn't the best for what you paid.||||And the fact there was no soft drinks or water available to buy during the day.||||Very close to the beach and supermarket within 10 minute walking distance although it is quite far from the main strip.||||fresh towels and petals replenished in the room daily and the beds were really comfortable!||||the TV is a bit small but you don't really go on holiday to watch TV!||||Brilliant value for money and again the cleanliness of the apartment...
