Scenarium - Restaurant & Bar — Restaurant in Albufeira

Last night we ate at scenarium and it’s fair to say we thoroughly enjoyed our experience!

From the get go the atmosphere of the restaurant was groovy, whilst also remaining classy! The detail was there right down to the cutlery!

Having eaten at various restaurants in the Algarve over a week, we easily found this the best and highest quality.

The seafood starter was well presented and delicious, it left me wanting more. Equally the crispy duck salad for starter was delicious.

When it came to the main course this unfortunately was not what was expected. I ordered the Massaman curry with duck. Although flavoursome, the curry was not massaman and was quite spicy. However The duck was cooked to perfection. We also ordered the ravioli which was pleasant.

Upon mentioning to the staff about the Massaman being too spicy and not really tasting like Massaman, I was told that all the food on the menu was house style and inspired by other dishes. With prior knowledge of this, I wouldn’t have ordered the curry, although it was still enjoyable

The desert really made up for this, both the Palvolva and Almond desert were mouth watering, leaving you wanting more.

Visited here with friends for dinner for the first time yesterday evening. Beautifully designed interior to the restaurant and we were seated at a lovely outside terrace with panoramic views. Prompt and friendly service from our waiters and our starters arrived in a very reasonable time. So all good so far one would think. However there are a few details that needs addressing. The wine list contains a fairly small selection of whites but about two and a half pages of reds but none of them with any descriptions which makes choosing something of a lottery. We also asked for some still water and received about a third of a glass each and never once were these offered to be topped up. The Caesar salad I ordered as a starter could have done with more dressing and less not particularly crisp lettuce. Finally although it is not obligatory for a restaurant to offer a small complementary drink to their guests at the end of the meal it's always a nice touch and more likely to attract repeat business. Scenarium was recommended to us by a friend and it did not disappoint! Our server was friendly and attentive and she spoke 5 languages!!! We sat on the patio and were able to see the sun starting to set. We started with the beef tartare and the prawns. Both were yummy. I had the pasta with lobster. The pasta was fresh and the dish had large chunks of lobster. It was delish! My husband had the ribs and my son had the T-bone. They both loved their food and given the portion sizes it was very reasonable. We got a pitcher of sangria as well which was sooooo good! For dessert we shared the banoffi. It was unique in that we had not had a dessert like it before. It reminded me a bit of baked Alaska because of the meringue but so much better! Highly recommend giving this place a try.
