This was the worse place I've ever stayed. They put me in a room that seemed more like a cubicle and a sauna when I walked in. After sleeping the first night, I went to take a shower, and after I came out of the bathtub, I couldn't believe what I saw - there was water everywhere on the floor (a pool). After this, I told the reception about it and the lady said it was normal because that room has bathtub issue at the front and this is the reason why they never offer this room during the winter (unbelievable!). Then I went to take the breakfast and they do the minimum, the juices are not even natural and there is no fruit. That day when I came back to the room, I saw that they didn't clean the room as my bed was exactly the same as when I left. Also I wanted to dry my hair and the hairdryer was broken. Everything was just broken in that room! The owner decided to call me after my stay because I decided to leave 1 day earlier than expected, he didn't return me back the night I didn't stay and even laughed at the phone saying the reservation I made was not through booking.com but through a partner. Which meant, I could not ask booking for a refund. In the end I have to say do NOT choose this hotel, save your money and go somewhere else. Above all, where people treat you respectfully and...
Read moreExcellent location IF you want to be in the center of this lovely and actually very small city. The staff are friendly and deserve all kinds of praise for the care they put into their work. The building itself has the obvious lovely view from the top floor where you eat your breakfast and I would say the interior of the rooms seem modern all well maintained.
My two biggest critiques: Tiny rooms. Even for a person used to living in one room, there's really very little space so get ready for tight quarters. This means I could also tell whenever the the guy in the room next door was using the toilet or whenever people were going upstairs to breakfast, I heard every step.
Probably very specific to my room - bidet didn't work and the sink wouldn't drain properly. Im sure staff would have jumped to fix this but I didn't feel like bothering them, so I guess you could say - that one was partially on me.
To sum it all up, Hotel Ordem de Santiago is a pretty cool place in an excellent location. I would cautiously...
Read moreA small boutique hotel right in the middle of town with many rooms facing the river. ||||Rooms are a tad small but it’s an awesome hotel. Check in was smooth, staff are very helpful and very good rates inclusive of a fairly widespread breakfast. Of course no raw vegetables in the breakfast but hot scrambled or fried eggs on demand. ||||Very serene and quiet in the room and the plus point is the nice little balconies facing the river and the rural setting of the town. ||||No restaurant in the hotel but plenty of restaurants within 2-6 mins of walk. Overall a...
