On my way from Lisbon to the Algarve I needed a place to hang my hat for a night. I booked online and left a note that I might be running late. The nightwatch was a nice, elderly gentleman who only spoke Portuguese (which I don't) but with our hand and feet and some random words we could figure everything out. The hotel is located at the banks of the Rio Sada but the entrance is a bit tricky to find because it is at the back of the building. There is no hotel parking, but the car can be parked it the small street behind (or rather in front) of the hotel. The room was basic but clean and had a small balcony.that faced the riverside. ||On the next morning I realized that I was lucky to be the only (?) guest for the night because floor of the lobby/breakfast area has a tiled floor and the acoustics is really bad, when someone moves his chair over the tiles it will wake the whole hotel.||The hotel does not have a restaurant and since I arrived on a Sunday evening in December around 10 p.m. all the restaurants were closed already, had to eat some crackers for dinner. We had a twin room over looking the river, we had clean towels when we needed them, we had soap shower gel and shampoo in our bathroom, the shower had a curtain as the doors were took off, it was kept clean and our room was done every day, the breakfast a selection of fruit, bread with toaster available, spiced cake, yoghurts, a selection of homemade jams, marmalade and chutneys, ham, cheese, four cereals, tea, coffee, hot milk, cold milk and a tub of hot chocolate, they haven't got a dining room it in the front of the hotel near the reception, but I didn't mind it was lovely and so were the couple who ran it, the area is full of history and there's lots of things to see if you go walking about, definitely...
Read moreWe stayed only one short night. In dbl room. But to be honest this room should be single... was really tiny. in room type written 'double room' but it was Twin room cause of two beds just next to eachother. Bed is soft so we had to sleep on separate parts of bed. Its easy to cover twin beds with big top on the materace to make it more like double bed. I would reccomend it for the future. We didn't have to much choice it was the only available room in within a radius of 30 km. But the price wasn't adequate. AMAZING SERVICE! Even if we didnt met in person I'm amazed by service of Shaye. Hosted us like King and Queen ;) big regards for your service Shaye cause its like in 5 starts hotel!!! We would love to come back. But unfortunatelly not...
