We have just finished our second stay and booked our third upcoming visit here. We have been traveling to the Minho area for business for well over a year now, staying at many hotels in the area. Blue Âncora is our preferred place to stay now. We entered this lovely boutique hotel that prides itself on customer service and the details. However after our first visit we left feeling like we left a friends home . Only to return a second time to be greeted like friends. |Our stay has been very comfortable, the rooms are very clean, modern, well equipped and tasteful. Breakfasts are very good, coffee excellent. Location of hotel is excellent with an easy walk to eateries, beach, shopping etc. |staff are top notch professionals and very attentive. |As in previous reviews, the train does run behind the hotel. For us, it is not distracting. The train is short and passes quickly. In all fairness, most of the other places we’ve stayed in the region also have this same situation. We see the train as a plus for area. In all the places we’ve stayed in the area Blue Âncora’s customer service outshines the rest. |We are well seasoned travelers in our late 60’s and picky about where we stay, BA has...
Read moreSuch a great welcome and so very helpful in every way; after 4 of us had been biking all day on the Camino way, the hotel is close to the coast and the shops. The rooms were very clean and comfortable; after a shower 3/4 of us submerged in the crystal clear swimming pool - and then lay in the sun. |Included in our deal was a meal out in a local restaurant - it was amazing, the staff very friendly and we feasted on local seafood, other side dishes; salads, desert, and also drinks up to a certain price. We were able to get washing done in a nearby laundry. Despite being near the railway line we hardly heard the trains. |The next day breakfast was also great, plenty of fresh fruit cereals etc, and the cooked breakfast was prepared on demand! Totally recommend...
Read moreThis is a beautiful, clean, modern, stylish, and chic hotel that invites people to stay longer and to stay for vacation. The hotel is new. The staff was attentive and enthusiastic (Carlos, yes, I am talking about you). The decoration is simple and elegant. As a Camino walker, I enjoyed the rain shower and quite comfortable (not too hard or soft) bed. I also enjoyed the view of the beautiful swimming pool (my room had two ceiling-to-floor windows). It is also a short walk to the town center. I enjoyed my stay very much.
Tip: If you are a light sleeper, the trains may be a problem. I was woken up by the train around 5am. Most of the restaurants do not open until 7pm, so plan around it, or enjoy some beautiful pastries and coffee in many of the...
