Verdes Lírios — Restaurant in Caminha

We were a set of 10 people looking for a place to eat after being at the beach. I asked if they had space and one waiter said yes, a minute after another waiter said no, then after i mentioned we were told we could eat there we were told to go inside or upstairs, so we went upstairs and found a place. An old grey haired man came and spoke to us disrespectful, saying we cannot just sit here moving the table to sit together. Mind, we had no help from the beginning. Awful service. Then by the end I told him we would leave because they were so disrespectful, he pushed my partner and yelled at him.

This is a discriminating place who does not like people who are alternative or tattooed. I would not support this place. We went around the corner and had the best service somewhere else. (In respond to the manager, if you respected your clients and were interested in serving us, you could have asked us to put our shoes/shirt on, we were 10 steps from the beach and just came from there. We initially wanted to go to a different place but with that being deserted, having a broken card machine and all ATMs closed, we decided to eat here like the many other diners - much to our chagrin!

As a fellow reviewer also noted, the monkfish and shrimp rice had almost no shrimp (we received 2 for 2 people!!!) and the monkfish was almost entirely tasteless. Same for the mussles. A shame since the rice was nicely seasoned with chili and fresh cilantro.

We came late so maybe that was our predicament, but still shouldn’t be THIS poor. 😕 The most expensive meal we had in Portugal, disappointment...

We went here based on previous reviews. I was so looking forward to having a traditional Portuguese fish dish. However, both my partner and I had one of the worst meals we have ever had! My partner had a ‘little steak’ with fries and salad. The fries on serving were cold. I had the house cod which was so undercooked it could have been used as sushi! The waiter was attentive however after we complained, nothing was done apart from an apology. No consideration of our complaints was taken into account. Would I eat there...
