We took the romantic pack, included full dinner, wine in room etc.. We paid 85 euro's more than a normal 2 night room
We got a standard nothing special room with SEPERATE BEDS (couple romantic pack) air conditioning didnt work. We had to change rooms to a small room with slightly better air conditioning at 1 am.
The second day the dinner service was a comedy show. They really did not want to serve us. They closed the blinds (we were the only ones unfornate enough to eat there)(seriously if I didn't pay 40 EUR for that dinner beforehand i'd be long gone)
(We werent late fyi, it was open for another hour and a half.)
No romantic stuff this time, wine, we served it ourselves no taste etc. The lady opened the bottle and looked at us to turn and give our glasses.
(Romantic pack/dinner being 80 euro more They ask if we want bread, we say yes but no olives cuz we only use the butter. Of course we get only olives. That's a small thing but on top of everything else that just made the whole deal even funnier.
They were constantly talking and laughing behind us. They looked like they resented us. Threw and took our plates by force.
The whole dinner really looked like a comedy movie.
Oh and the dinner (only special thing we got) that added those 85 eur were on the menu for 12 euro's. You couldn't even order steak.(not included)
So you could do it witouth reservation, just taking a normal room for 50 eur but in reality you'll just go for dinner in the city. Wish I could.
Then again, I recommend anyone looking for a hotel in castelo branco looks for another one. Even the basics, comfortable sleeping in an air conditioned room was bad. (The rooms look like they were last touched...
Read moreOutdated interior. Thin walls. Can hear everything! No spa (booking.com suggest otherwise).
Old furniture, windows, and TV but that could be forgivable.
The worst thing is the audability of everything happening in the next room and maybe the room over. It's crazy. I woke up to someone else's alarm. A mindful neighbour knocked on the wall to help the person wake up, followed up by a sigh (YOU CAN HEAR IF SOMEONE SIGHS THROUGH THE WALL!) of the person in another room. There was a school trip or something and I heard kids who weren't even on the same floor. To top that all off, the toilet was dripping water the whole night, had I not been that tired I would never have fallen asleep, I'd probably go crazy right in that room.
Ridiculous! If you want to have a good rest, do not go to this hotel. The beds are nice though, firm mattresses which is not common in hotels for some reason.
The room wasn't as clean as it should have been. Stray hairs in multiple places. The mirror had small stains.
The hair dryer is hanging on by a thread, hardly working and the cord was half broken.
Breakfast eggs were gray for some reason but other than that the breakfast was okay, nothing remarkable. The tables were terrible though. For some reason, the room has mostly flimsy 8 person tables.
On Booking the hotel is listed as having Spa and wellness centre. In reality it's just a massage cabinet that you need to schedule. It has a gym though.
I also don't think that 100€ per night price is justified all things considered but could be worse I guess. I don't understand how it's a 4 star...
Read moreStayed here for 3 nights August 2020 to celebrate our wedding anniversary in the city. We stayed here in June 2019 for the festival as well.||||Similar issues both stays i.e. room not cleaned daily if you stay more than 1 night.||||Had to ask for the room to be cleaned on the second day. Third day not cleaned when we arrived back at around 4pm. No loo roll or clean towels, bins not emptied. We had a table booked for dinner at a local restaurant so we wanted to get ready to go back out. Had to attend reception twice to get clean towels and loo roll and then rush to get ready because of the delays.||||Breakfast is included in the price of your stay but they use another room now away from the restaurant. The queuing system is in a small corridor. Social distancing isn't possible in the corridor effectively especially as couples and families leave the room and walk head on through the queues inside the corridor.||||Not enough staff in attendance to support breakfast service. One waiter expected to serve guests from a multi option buffet whilst also toasting bread and delivering the toast to guests tables. In our case the toast got burnt. He threw it away rather than bring it to us which was understandable, but he was so busy he forgot to put us anymore in the machine. We eventually left the breakfast room having only eaten a plate of lukewarm scrambled egg. No bacon was available at this sitting. This was the only time we attended for breakfast because of our experience. Local cafes are cheap to eat out for breakfast.||||Overall a...
