Sabores da índia — Restaurant in Guarda

On a rainy Sunday afternoon, we decided to try this place for some Indian food, as it had good reviews. Upon arrival, it felt as though we were intruding, the door was closed, and when we went in, it was freezing inside. We had to keep our jackets on throughout the meal. The menu offered only two options: Butter Chicken or Korma. I chose the Butter Chicken, which was decent and came with a papadum. However, the naan was disappointing, very greasy and not enjoyable.

For dessert, I decided to skip it as it didn’t look appealing. I opted for a coffee instead, but to my shock, there was a hair in it. One of my companions ordered tea, which was forgotten, and one was cold. The iced tea I had tasted off, almost spoiled, and was far from enjoyable.

We ate at this place as a lot of restaurants were closed on sunday evening in Guarda. Although at first it didn’t look very inviting, the food was quite good! We had the dish of the day, Butter chicken with papdums and our kids had some french fries. The main dish was good, far above what we expected. Also the people kn the restaurant were nice, hulpfull and were kind to our kids. A nice touch were the Indian beers they had, those were good as well. Its a nice little restaurant in the heart of the city, right infront of the cathedral. By the time we reached the kitchen was closed. The owner was kind enough to go out of her way and prepare something for us. Food was very delicious, sufficient quantity and totally value for money. Each platter was 6€ which had salad, papad, rice with curry. Dessert is included too which is cherry on the top! I wish i could try more dishes but we were so full at the end of...
