We have just returned from a week at Placid Village as a family of 5 (3 children aged 11months, 5 and 8). We went with friends who have 3 children aged 7,9 and 12. ||Check in was very quick and easy. There are not many apartments so the pool is never crowded. We always had sunbeds and there were always spare ones. The pool area is immaculate. Pool is a perfect size and the little circular pool is about 2ft deep so it’s great for little ones to splash about in. There’s a small area next to reception that caters for breakfast although we didn’t use this. They do however have drinks in the fridge at a very reasonable price (€2) for all fizzy drinks and large bottles of water. They also sell ice creams. ||Apartments are big! All very modern and usually the beds are rock hard but these beds were like being in your own. Daily maid service with beds being made, clean towels and bins emptied. They provide towels for by the pool as well as for washing. There’s a washing machine and dishwasher. The kitchen is fully equipped. ||We walked to the local mini shop which was a 10 minute walk to grab essentials and pool floats etc. then from there it took about 5 more minutes to get down to the centre. Carvoeiro centre is absolutely lovely. Every single restaurant we ate in had incredible food. The area is family friendly, a lovely atmosphere and doesn’t feel too touristy. ||Highly recommend...

Placid Village in Algarve, Portugal offers a delightful retreat amidst serene surroundings. The rooms are exceptionally spacious, providing ample comfort and relaxation. Each morning, guests are treated to a delicious and satisfying breakfast, featuring a variety of tasty options to start the day right.

The highlight of Placid Village is undoubtedly its beautiful pool area, a tranquil oasis perfect for unwinding under the sun or enjoying a refreshing swim. The attentive staff contribute greatly to the experience, known for their warm hospitality and eagerness to assist guests. A particularly noteworthy gesture was their accommodation of early check-in, demonstrating flexibility and consideration towards travelers' needs.

Overall, Placid Village exceeds expectations as a peaceful haven in Algarve. Whether you're lounging by the pool, enjoying the spacious rooms, or savoring the delightful breakfast, every aspect of the stay is designed to ensure a relaxing and memorable experience. Just returned from a 4 night stay in Placid Village. The apartment was a great size and modern and nicely appointed. However it had a large ant colony walking through the living area and a cockroach in the kids bedrooms which left me feeling it wasn't as clean as it should be! I was told the towels for the pool couldn't be replaced for the duration of a stay...in a cheeky tone I was advised I had a washing machine and could use it if I needed them clean!!! Shame it broke and flooded leaving this impossible. (It was replaced but too late for our stay) . Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend Placid Village to my friends but would return to Carvereio as it's a great location. Staff are friendly but need more training to help them when problems arise .... Being told cockroach is a delicacy in some areas is not helpful when your kids are screaming at one in their room! Being told to take your money and use the supermarket washing machine also not helpful when the machine has just...

Our "home from home" in Portugal. They're always friendly, the daily clean keeps it spotless. The suites are large, nicely decorated, light, bright and well equipped. It IS a 15-20 minute walk into town: challenging if you're less mobile, but it makes it a peaceful oasis too and only 10 mins drive half hour stroll to the supermarket (the fresh foods are of high quality) but little local shops are closer. Uber & Bolt & other taxi companies operate in the area and are good value. We keep returning: the only place in the world that we do that to other than home... That says it all. We have travelled from freezing wet Yorkshire and been sat on the balcony at Placid Village in the sun by mid afternoon! Why not do 3 of these a year rather than one all inclusive?

Very nice, clean and new resort. You may walk to the Algar Seco Rocks in about 20 -30 minutes and restaurants area downhill from the resort. However, you may need a car if you want to visit other areas in Algarve. They delivered our breakfast to our apartment/unit every morning at the time that we specified. Lots of delicious bakeries, deli, fruit that we could never finished. Parking along in the complex was limited . We had no parking problem since we went there in October, slow season. I was told there’s additional parking around the complex but I wasn’t sure where it was. The unit was very nice and big. I just wish the bedroom was bigger. The bathroom and kitchen were nice and big too. There’s washer and dryer but I never used.
