Nothing more than a pretty space. The experience was far from good. Where to begin, first the room. Water leakage in the sink, power socket not working, very old bed that makes a lot of noise when I move from one side to another, the room didn't have a balcony, that's ok but it could have a table or comfortable chairs next to the huge window. The breakfast, what a disappointment. Bread and fruit full of flies, they serve tap water, not enough variety. At one time the number of staff assigned to the breakfast was larger than the customers and they couldn't handle the requests. Most of the times the customers had to get up and request the beverages. It also happened to me, I got up and found two staff members just talking. Other two severe things and it does not have nothing to do with covid. I saw that the same person that collects the dirty dishes is the same that brings the clean dishes. And also at the same time the dishes are stored bellow the buffet, the staff member cleaned the dust with its hand. It's basic higiene and I don't clean the dust while I store the cleaned dishes, it's absurd. But, the staff was very nice, can't complain about that. For me Pestana is a quality brand and saw nothing even close to quality. It needs to give training to its staff urgently. At the end, the final thought was, it was nothing more than just a...
Read moreMy stay at the Hotel was underwhelming and fell short of the expectations one would have from a four-star establishment. Upon arrival, the reception was unwelcoming, with a palpable sense of preferential treatment among guests that tainted the first impression. Despite the laid-back, beachy atmosphere, the staff's attitude was more dismissive than hospitable, lacking the warmth and openness anticipated in such a setting.
The facilities, while comfortable, were marred by inadequate service. The serene environment provided a conducive space for relaxation and stress relief, and the close proximity to the beach was a definite plus, allowing for an immersive natural experience, particularly during the off-peak season. However, the reality did not live up to the advertised offerings. The absence of services that one would consider essential for a beachfront hotel—such as massage therapies, an outdoor spa to capitalize on the seaside location, or even a heated pool for the cooler days—was keenly felt. Additionally, the hotel lacked engaging activities, both within its premises and on the adjacent beach, which could have significantly enhanced the guest experience. Overall, the hotel needs to address these shortcomings to truly deliver on its...
Read moreFirst off, we got an email to check-in online before the stay. But no, both the web and app check-in don't work. No biggie though, we'll just do it in person. Staff was friendly and welcoming. We got into the room and the carpet was stained and filthy. After a 3-hour drive from Lisbon, we were exhausted and didn't say anything. There was also a splatter of something red on the table next to the bed. Blood? Ketchup? Who knows? Told front desk about the room and they said we could move to a suite-at an extra cost to us. Said they'd do a "general cleaning" of the room which never happened. Housekeeping didn't even vacuum during the cleaning and they didn't replace the complementary waters in the fridge. In addition, housekeeping staff came into our room unannounced with the do not disturb sign on the door. Total fail.
Another huge issue was the shower. The first night there, I took a shower and the entire bathroom floor flooded. Either a design flaw or poor maintenance, but every time we showered the glass doors leaked water all over. Very unpleasant.
Would not...
