Mister Alvor — Restaurant in Portimão

Service was very good, fast, caring and kind and this is why the grade is 2 stars and not 1.

Food was tragic.

• Octopus, is it possible to destroy such a good food? It is. Probably fired on cold oil so the meat was literally flooding in the oil and was very fatty itself because of it.
• Schrimps. Is it possible to destroy schrimps? It is. Instead of delicate meat it was very firm w/o any spices.
• Squid Rinks - burnt - The sauce was OK!
• Plate of cheese - Dry bread with one kind of hard cheese sliced. You could definately find a better place in Alvor. It would be difficult to...

We had the daily special. As a starter, one of the best vegetable soups I’ve ever had. My husband had the pork loin with salad and French Fries, I had a superbly fresh fish with asparagus, carrots and small potatoes roasted in butter. For dessert, we had the choice of chocolate mousse or fresh fruit. The mousse was straight from a classic French cookbook-perfect. The possibility to order just a glass of their house wine was also convenient. All in all, a very lovely way to kick off our vacation in Alvor. We will come back. Service was welcoming...

A lovely plate of food and friendly staff. Plenty of space around your table too, something you don't always find, I didn't feel crammed in.

The pork steaks were generous and cooked well, still juicy,served with crispy fries and fresh salad.

We'd seen this place many times but as we normally go out of season, they're open for evening dinner, and so we count this as a lucky find having had a lunch there.
