I’ve stayed in plenty of places over the years, but I don’t think I’ve ever met a hotel owner who seemed to dislike her own guests quite this much. From the moment we arrived, she was rude, curt, and made us feel like we were a nuisance for simply existing.||There were no sink or bath plugs — apparently not something you should expect. When we asked for one, she flatly refused to help. The room had very few sockets, and when we politely asked for an extension, she acted like we’d asked for the moon, pulling faces and telling us to just unplug the TV or lamp if we needed to charge anything. The way she spoke to us was genuinely unpleasant and left us feeling embarrassed for even asking.||What made it worse is that the other staff were actually friendly, the food was good, and the place itself was very clean (despite a musty, damp smell that lingered). There was potential for a perfectly decent stay — but the owner’s attitude ruined it.||As for the pool — we asked if we could use it both days. Each time, the answer was an unhelpful no. Or it will need to be cleaned , basically it’s private, so therefore shouldn’t be advertised. ||It’s genuinely upsetting to spend your holiday feeling unwelcome. I truly don’t think someone this unfriendly should be in this business. I left feeling more stressed and irritated than when I arrived, and that’s not what a holiday is meant to be.||I would not recommend staying here unless the owner learns how to treat paying guests with even...
Read moreAVOID AT ALL COST I would only recommend this hotel to hikers who might be lost, tired, hungry, dehydrated, and desperate for literally anywhere to stay. These hikers need to bewilling to put up with an unbelievably rude proprietor who couldn't careless about her customers. To everyone else, my advice - find another hotel, even if it means driving/walking for another 4 hours. You won't regret it. Stay and you'll be made to feel unwelcome whilst paying for the privilege. This woman hates her job (she owns the hotel), but not nearly as much as she hates her guests. She advertises a pool, but refuses to open it. Any requests (I asked for an extension to charge phones and battery packs because there's was only 1 available outlet) are met with disdain, a lot of eye rolling, huffing, and puffing, excuses, and blank stares or stony silence. Sure, the rooms are clean, but EVERYTHING is damp. The food is mediocre, but the restaurant staff were warm and friendly, despite the owner glowering at them (and us) from behind the bar for the entire evening. My 2-night stay here was thoroughly unpleasant and I would never return. This accommodation was organised through a hiking tour company and my recommendation was for them to find an alternative because this was the only negative experience in an otherwise...
Read moreAmazing value for your money if you don't want/need to stay at the ocean.
I stayed in the hotel for 10 days. Location was perfect for me. I did a lot of hiking and only went to the beach once. Close to the airport and the ocean, but still pretty high, so it's usually a bit colder, I enjoyed that. I also did like the small village and the market every sunday. The room was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was amazing! Everyone was really nice and helpful.
To get in the hotel you have to ring at the front door. Not sure if its because of covid and there are very few guests or its normal. I did come home late 2 or 3 times and did feel bad for ringing in the middle of the night, I...
