Restaurante Cantinho da Aldeia — Restaurant in Machico

I'm really sorry to say so, but this was one time and never again. We paid 32,40 in total for food which was really poor. Best part were the magnum ice-cream. Also reasonable was the home made bread with garlic butter. I ordered a hamburger with chips, 8,50, which turned out to be some deep-fried ones. They changed it on my request to home made ones, but they seemed to be composed of everything but meat. All things considering, we will never go...

These guys gave me the best they can offer. Showed me the "secret path" so I don't walk with my family on the street. Gave me extra cash when I payed with my card, so I can have some for the taxi...

Food is average, but the lady of the house makes sure it is as tasty as its possible. Service is also average. But the hearts of these people are way above average.

Please give them your time and respect....

We came here after a visit to the neighboring Santo da Serra market because we needed some vegetables to supplement our chicken and queijada that we got there. It’s a fantastic spot with all the local specialties and friendly, quick service. We didn’t get the skewers but they look amazing and are very theatrical with these enormous metal towers that plant into the center...
