I recently stayed at Grand Regency Doha and unfortunately, it was a rather disappointing experience overall. The issues I encountered were significant and impacted the quality of my stay in multiple ways.
They card-key for the room was always interrupted and not working, everyday i go like 2 times to the reception to change it after reaching my room which i had to use 2 elevators to go from parking to my room which wasn't easy for us.
Cleanliness Concerns: the room when we first reached the hotel wasn't clean, we found socks and plastic bag under the bed when we moved it to the favorable place and sadly we found a needle also knowing that i have a baby with me !
Parking Nightmare: Another major frustration was the parking situation. Despite advertising available parking, the reality was quite different. The parking lot was consistently full, leaving guests scrambling to find alternative parking arrangements. they don't even tell you don't go inside the parking , but they keep you suffer with the narrow parking and circulation is very hard. 3 of 5 nights i came back without finding a parking.
Breakfast Disappointment: One of the supposed perks of staying at the hotel was the breakfast. However, the reality fell far short of expectations. The quality of the breakfast offerings was subpar, with limited options and lackluster presentation. To make matters worse, there was no effort made to refill empty trays or replenish items that ran out, leaving guests with slim pickings and a dissatisfying start to the day, even we waited like 30 mins to bring empty water glasses ! this was on Ramadan days to be fair. but its not a excuse ! and even in Eid Days it wasn't that good.
Overall, my experience was far from satisfactory. From cleanliness issues in the room to parking difficulties and disappointing breakfast quality, it's clear that improvements are needed to bring this establishment up to par with basic hospitality standards. I would strongly advise potential guests to explore other lodging options until these issues are addressed...
ย ย ย Read moreI don't really know where to start with this hotel. ||Firstly the positives its clean and the hotel was in an ok location to central Doha. The staff were friendly but there seemed to be too many staff in the lobby area who would all go silent as we walked across the lobby. ||The hotel was bizarre - it's reception was a long room with desks and chairs (a bit like entering a 80's UK car showroom). We was asked to take a seat but the reception staff seem to serve others whilst serving one person. They do keep wondering off. Whilst in the hotel I did feel like I was being watched, which was a little unnerving, ||The hotel was very glitzy upon entering with gold everywhere, it made it look cheap and over the top rather than luxurious. We went to our room and the floor stunk of cigarettes. The room was tired, cupboards didn't shut properly, the wifi router flashed all night keeping us awake, the curtains were not blackout, the outer window didn't shut properly, the safe didn't work, we had one bath towel, no hand towel or bath mat were provided. On top of this my bedside lap was hanging off the wall. The hotel did also have a lot of dead spots with signal too. ||The pool was ok but still it was rather tired and not at all refreshed. ||Breakfast was ok but again a bit random with a very strange selection (a bit like it's a second thought). You even had to ask for the toaster to be turned on plus the you could see everything that wasn't eaten was simply put away for tomorrow with not much freshness.||The hotel feels like is a bit of a scam in terms of being a 5 star and the hotel would have been more acceptable being a 3 star (if that). For Middle East standards this was really poor and I would not be...

๐Entrance and Reception: ๐ check-in verification was slow. Had to show confirmations to confirm my payment. ๐ A deposit of 300qar required
๐Room: ๐ Honestly, I am disappointed in the room. Nothing special at all. Got high expectations since itโs a 5-star hotel. Expecting something โuniqueโ since it is the 1st day of Eid Holidays. ๐ Toiletries not complete, needed a dental kit. Called several times, in the end only tissues provided. ๐คฆ๐ผโโ๏ธ๐ i just stopped calling them.
๐Food: ๐ Room-in only. Dine-in not allowed ๐ no food choices. Options are not free. No brewed coffee or fresh juices as well. I felt the foodbox was the same for those in hotel quarantine. Another disappointment. ๐ Nothing special for Eid
๐Check-out: ๐ Hassle-free check-out. Deposits returned immediately.
Conclusions: 2/5โญ๏ธโญ๏ธ ๐ They donโt respond to emails and queries. ๐ My requests were not granted at all. Toiletries available good for 1 pax only even-though I repeatedly emailed them that I needed 2 sets.
