I had the pleasure of staying at the Holiday Villa Hotel & Residence Center in Doha, Qatar, during my motorcycle trip across six Gulf countries in December 2024. We rode over 5,000 kilometers, and this hotel was one of the highlights of our journey. Before checking in, we had an amazing local ride around Doha, and I must say, Doha is now one of my favorite places in the world. I’ve traveled to over 30 countries, and the vibrant city of Doha stands out for its energy, modernity, and beauty. Now, about the hotel: The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained—perfect for unwinding after a long day of riding. The service was impeccable throughout our stay, and the staff went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Breakfast was delicious, with a wide variety of options, and it set us up for the day ahead. Food & Beverage service at Lagenda Restaurant in Holiday Villa Hotel & Residence Doha was much appreciated. A special thanks to DESIERE on the breakfast floor, who stood out for her exceptional attention to detail. She made sure all the food trays were consistently refilled and personally ensured that every guest was well taken care of. Another great touch was the hotel's willingness to let us park our motorcycles right in front of the lobby. Given that most of our belongings were still on the bikes, we felt incredibly safe and at ease. This thoughtful gesture made a huge difference. The location of the hotel is also very convenient—close to all the major attractions in Doha, making it an ideal base for exploring the city. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a great place to stay in Doha. If I ever find myself back in Qatar, I’ll definitely be booking a stay at the Holiday Villa again! Overall, my experience at this hotel was fantastic, and it contributed to making our journey across the Gulf countries even more memorable.

Terrible experience, Check-In took around one hour, Extra bed I requested given after two hours (around 1 AM) only after I repeatedly called and shouted. Initially housekeeping team rejected the request saying their service available in the morning only. In the reception they had offered me extra bed during ckeck-in since I paid for two rooms instead of the given single suit. None of their reception number working since morning, there are three number, all ringing but nobody answer. No contact with housekeeping, No contact with food delivery. All the phone ringing, but nobody answers. I was in quarantine, received negative PCR report in the morning, had to wait 4 hours more to get discharge request. Had to go to reception for check out, that guy without listening me while talking on mobile, misguided me to go to 9 floor. nobody was there. It should be M floor to get discharge request. since lift has access restriction, unable to come back to room or any floor, need to wait until any hotel staff use the same lift and plead him. Going to reception or any office is never easy. Medical team in the first floor called me to get some document, they don’t know how can I reach there and come back by restricted lift. (reception never answer) Dinner is delivering around 2 PM only. Food also not good, cheap quality. Broken shower in a three-star hotel. for check out I had needed trolley to carry luggage, asked boy in the floor, he asked to call reception number, which never answer. finally, I had to carry all luggage to the lift manually without trolley. End of the story.

I’ve been staying in this 4-star hotel apartment paying thousands of riyals per month, expecting clean air and healthy living conditions. Unfortunately, the centralized AC system circulates visible fabric micro-particles and dust, which I personally captured on a HEPA air purifier filter within days. I’ve raised multiple complaints with photographic evidence sent by email — yet no satisfactory action has been taken. This is not a minor issue; inhaling airborne textile fibers and dust over time can lead to chronic respiratory irritation, worsen asthma or dust allergies, and may cause long-term damage to lung health. To make things worse, this is a closed environment — the windows are sealed with permanent glass, so we have no way to ventilate or bring in fresh air. We’re forced to continuously breathe the recycled, unfiltered air pumped through this system. Why am I paying thousands of riyals every month for a place that may be silently compromising my health? If basic air quality can’t be maintained — especially in a premium facility advertised as a 4-star residence — it raises serious concerns about the building’s maintenance standards and duty of care toward tenants. I am sharing this review with photos to alert other potential residents to be cautious and check air quality before moving in. Clean air isn’t a luxury — it’s a right. To be fair, most other aspects of the apartment are good, and the staff are genuinely helpful and courteous — but this air quality issue urgently needs serious attention.

The Worst Hotel Experience: A Disaster from Start to Finish

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at what can only be described as the most appalling hotel I have ever come across. As someone who frequently travels and stays in various accommodations, I never thought I would encounter such a disaster. I am not one to complain, but this hotel deserves a scathing review for the multitude of issues I faced during my stay.

To begin with, upon making my booking, I specifically requested a baby crib for my infant. However, when I arrived at the room, I was dismayed to find a broken crib. I immediately informed the staff of the issue, expecting them to promptly rectify the situation. But to my disbelief, they claimed it was the only one they had and made no effort to replace it. Outraged by their lack of concern, I raised my voice and demanded either a suitable replacement or a refund. It was only when I threatened to involve the authorities that they begrudgingly provided an adult extra bed as a substitute.

The disappointments didn't end there. The bathroom door was in an abysmal state, barely closing properly. Not only did this compromise my privacy, but it also posed a safety hazard. It was evident that the hotel neglected basic maintenance and upkeep, leaving guests to deal with malfunctioning facilities.

To add insult to injury, the iron provided by the hotel turned out to be faulty and ruined one of my shirts. I was left infuriated and frustrated by their lack of attention to detail and the disregard for the value of my personal belongings. A simple task such as providing a functional iron should be a standard expectation, but clearly, this hotel fell far below any reasonable standards.

Furthermore, the shower in my room failed to deliver the promised temperature control. It seemed that regardless of the settings, it would only fluctuate between freezing cold and scalding hot water. This made it impossible to have a comfortable and enjoyable bathing experience, which is a basic requirement for any decent hotel.

In all honesty, this hotel doesn't even deserve a single star. I implore anyone considering staying there to think twice before making a reservation, even if they offer their rooms at half the price of other hotels. The level of incompetence and disregard for guest satisfaction demonstrated by this establishment is nothing short of appalling. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment by choosing an alternative hotel that values its guests and prioritizes their comfort and well-being.

In conclusion, my stay at this hotel was nothing short of a nightmare. The broken baby crib, malfunctioning bathroom door, ruined shirt, and inadequate shower temperature were just a few of the issues that plagued my visit. I can confidently say that this was the worst hotel experience I have ever had, and I strongly advise others to avoid it...

After a long day at work, I realized I had left my apartment key inside, and with my husband away on a business trip, I had no choice but to book a nearby hotel for the night. Unfortunately, my experience at this hotel was an absolute nightmare from start to finish.

First, my room was on the highest floor, directly under a noisy generator. As someone who struggles to sleep in noisy environments and was already exhausted from a migraine, this was unbearable. I requested a room change at 6:45 PM, but no one got back to me. After following up at 7:35 PM, they finally sent someone 15 minutes later to show me another room—on the same floor and just as noisy.

May Lin, a helpful hotel employee, escalated the matter, but Joshua at reception informed me that the only alternative was to pay extra for a quieter room. After voicing my frustration about the lack of transparency regarding noise during booking, they finally gave me a quieter room on the 10th floor at 8:15 PM—nearly two hours later. By then, I was utterly drained.

To make matters worse, I discovered the bidet in the bathroom wasn’t working. It took two calls to housekeeping and 20 minutes for a plumber to fix what should have been ready before my arrival. By the time I could finally rest, it was almost 10 PM.

The next morning, after breakfast, my room key stopped working—not once but twice! I had to seek help from housekeeping to access my room because the reception’s replacement keys didn’t work. Later, while preparing to check out, I was charged 51 QAR for staining the bedsheet due to my menstrual cycle. As a frequent traveler, I’ve never experienced such a policy before. A large hotel chain should be equipped to handle such situations without penalizing guests for something beyond their control.

Despite a few kind staff members, the overall experience was frustrating and disappointing. The lack of preparation, poor customer service, and added inconveniences make this hotel a place I would not recommend. Absolutely not...

I have been staying in Doha only for the past 9 months which is right opposite to Holiday Villa, ever since I wanted to stay there atleast for a night. Finally me and my husband booked 4 nights and five days in February 2020 . The booking was made online and our correspondence said only what is complementary like free WiFi and pool, didn't say anything about the laundry. Obviously when you are not sure you ask the hotel staff, we did the same about the laundry service and they said 2 pieces complementary per day. Next day when the laundry was delivered staff bought a 25 qar bill stating it's not complementary. My husband called up the reception and enquired about it however they asked for the name of the staff who said it's complementary. I dnt think we ask the name of all the hotel staff that we speak to, instead of trying for a service recovery they wasted around, 45 minutes of our time trying to find out the staff who gave wrong information. We gave up as we were planning to go out. On the fifth day when we checked out we informed this to the front desk manager of the day and he asked us to wait till he listens to all the call recordings so that he can come up with a name. All these time what we wanted was a genuine apology and owning the mistake. Neither the staff nor the manager in duty had the guts to own it and apologise on behalf of their staff. I never felt our time has been valued over there. A huge language barrier was an another concern in place, I knew the hotel is run majorly by the people from philippines however me and my husband doesn't speak the language and we communicate in English. And I remember saying most of the sentences twice to the people at the front desk as they dnt understand what is been said. A hotel which is rated as high class atleast has to recruit somebody who can communicate properly to their guests, and I dnt think it is too much to ask. This is my personal experience and I would never recommend this...
