The owner asked us for prepayment of the rooms, and we only asked to ensure that we get two adjacent rooms out of which one should have king size bed. Bare in mind that we booked 7 rooms for an event. The only to ask for the king size bed was because two parents were supposed to sleep with a 1 year-old in between and the adjacent room was supposed to be for grandma and a 4 year-old. They happily took our money and on the check-in date, at 23:00 we discovered that king size bed turned into a room with two 80cm singles placed in an L formation that could not be joined. They offered a room in another floor to fix the problem, but only for the first night, and the guests were supposed to interupt their event the next day to move rooms or to pay an extra 150lei, considering the original room was already prepaid with 80lei per night. I've then called the lady calling herself general manager (actual owner) and she then started blasting at me, shouting at me, accusing me of having more people than the beds in the room and such. Whey I've asked her why she did not honor the original agreement she blamed it on a broken faucet in the bathroom that broke the day before. When asked why she did not call me the day before to find a solution with us, she became belligerent and hanged up telling us that she will give us the money back without a charge. Clearly she was not capable of fully taking responsibility or understanding what they did. She was OK to call us 3 times to make sure we prepay but did not care about informing us about this problem. Went to the place and talked to the husband of the general manager as he was on reception duty. Asked him for explanation, he had a different story where they had bugs infestation and had to bug spray. What respectable acomodation waits for guest to start checking in before such maintenance is beyond my comprehension, never happened to me until now. He also did not had any explanation of why they did not call before to tell us about the problem and to at least try to see if the solution fits us. In the end, they are the ones that changed the deal and in the wrong and did not respected us as customers and people. They were still a bit offended that we demanded the money back from the two rooms. I've stayed in a lot of places and never has such a thing happen. I had one where they got their got rooms flooded and could not reach me but they tried and they offered me apologies and convenient solution to minimize the discomfort. I can see from the TripAdvisor reviews that this is not the first time they behave this way with customers. We were lucky as we were locals and knew how to minimize the financial impact but I can not image a tourist, comming in the middle of the night and being told that they have to pay more or stay in a really bad room. In the end we went to a hotel nearby and got a good deal at the reception as it was a slow weekend. Next day some more guests came to check in and their room was also bug sprayed. We did not even bother anymore with the 3 bed room, we took it as a loss and life lesson and next time we will pay a lot more attention who we are doing business with. What amazes me is that someone runs their business like this and expect to stay a lot into business by being so dishonest, ignorant (by not informing customers of changes) and rude. So yes out of seven rooms 4 were taken by others, to whom I've apologized. I asked and got refund for two of the rooms and for the third one I just did not bother to consume our time by dealing with such rude people. Apparently they did not notice this either, but they care for customers... So yeah they still owning me 120lei for bug spraying the 3 bed room before check-in. And the fact that the night before my wedding I had to run around to move guests and ask for my money back is a huge problem, one for which you did not bother apologize but directly to accuse me. Out of the 4 rooms left, that you did not bug spray, you got 2 3*...

Read moreThe room was fine, though there were some oddities like a door to nowhere and a nook that seemed unnecessary and unusable. The main drawbacks were 1) No AC, 2) street noise even with windows closed, 3) The immediate neighbor had a few dogs that barked at everything, seemingly all night.
