It is hard to find an inexpensive hotel near the beach in Constanta in the summertime. But let's be clear - this property is further away from the beach than it advertises. You have to walk a bit, cross a busy street, walk behind some restaurants, and THEN you see the beach - which requires about another 7 minutes walking down a steep hill. The beach is below average from what you can find elsewhere along the coast. Now, I would not have spent so much time describing this but for the fact the hotel states how close it is to the beach in its listing. (It will take you just less than 10 minutes to get there, so still relatively close but not as close as they claim).||||My room looked directly onto the back of the hotel's basketball and tennis courts, which created an incredible racket (!) morning, day, and night. Basketball was especially noisy as when the ball hit the backsplash it reverberated throughout my room - making an afternoon nap impossible. The view on the other side of the property is a garbage bin, electrical wires, and two rundown buildings, so one can't really win.||||Staff was mixed in their English language ability and friendliness. I encountered about 6 different ladies during my 3-day stay. They work hard, as they must also waitress in the odd little attached restaurant in the morning. Some were very friendly, others were more interested in talking on the phone. Their credit card POS was not working and it took a couple of days for it to be fixed. They wanted me to pay in cash and the second worker almost made me feel like a criminal because I said I needed to pay via credit card and would be happy to wait while they sorted it out. (The second time I tried to pay.) It did eventually get sorted on the last day.||||The room itself was fairly spacious, even though it was decorated in a strange lime green and lemon yellow decoration ('key lime pie'). But the pillows were incrediby lumpy. The sheets were not very soft. The refrigerator was not cold and the inside smelled like stale wetsuit. The shower had mold growing in the corner. The toiletries consisted of a thin, greasy shampoo packet which I did not bother using. There was no place inside the shower to put your toiletries.||||The air conditioning worked well and the presence of an in-room hair dryer and hotel elevator was useful. ||||Overall, there is not a lot to see in Constanta itself. I think the seaside is the...
Read moreI've arrived to this hotel at end of august and spent 3 days there. When I got to Constanta the hotel offer was very big and really I didn't want to make a market analysis. I got to Constanta by bike -I've biked from Germany till Constanta-. I've asked other hotels and they were too expensive comparing from what I had paid during my trip. Suddendly I saw this hotel and they made mi an offer which was pretty much cheaper than every other hotel although it was high season (34€ per night incluiding breakfast). The room was ok, pretty big, ac, tv, etc. It has also a tennis court which was irrelevant for me but it was there.||There were two drawbacks. Beer at the hotel was horrible expensive and for some unknown reason they didn't provide room service. I mean. The second day when I arrived to my room the bed and the toillet was exactly as when I left. I...
Read moreHad the pleasure to stay in this property for a week during offseason, that is the winter in Constant(s)a (yes, snow and everything!). The staff was very friendly, paid good personal attention even when preparing the built-in breakfast set. However this might not have been too difficult for them, because it seemed I was the only guest at those very days.||||The room was good quality, well... good enough, but considering the amenities in the room; no bottled water, barely any shampoo etc, the price could have been set a bit lower. They had the price put on the wall in the reception, however which did not equal to the price paid.||||Especially during the offseason, I did value the location of this hotel as its not in the middle of old town where nothing happens in winter, but next to real life restaurants, cafes and shops...
