Hotel Carol exceeded my expectations in every way! Nestled in a quaint, historic building, this charming 3-story hotel perfectly captures the essence of Constanta. From my balcony on the third floor, I enjoyed breathtaking views of the Black Sea, just a leisurely 10-minute walk away. Stepping into my classic-styled room, I was immediately struck by its spaciousness and comfort. It felt like a home away from home, providing a cozy retreat after a day of exploration. Each morning, I indulged in the excellent breakfast spread served in the inviting dining area. The variety of options ensured there was something to satisfy every palate. Moreover, the reception staff were always warm, welcoming, and eager to assist with any inquiries or requests. Their hospitality truly enhanced my stay and made me feel well taken care of throughout my time at Hotel Carol. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better accommodation in Constanta. Hotel Carol perfectly combines comfort, convenience, and hospitality, making it the ideal choice for any traveler seeking a memorable stay by the Black Sea.

Awesome historical building, great location in the center- close to everything you might need and that's about it. There is a slight try for rococo design but they should have put way more money in it. The bed itself was comfortable to sleep in, but the rest of the furniture is too big and non functional. My main issue is with the cleanliness of the place- bed sheets were nice and fresh, also pretty good quality cotton but the overall feeling in the room was quite dusty. The bathroom was dirty, limescale everywhere, the wall fixture of the shower was broken as well as few of the lights. The shower cabin was ridiculously small in a huge empty bathroom... But the best surprise were the huge cockroaches the came to visit- absolute horror! Also the breakfast was diverse bit with very cheap products. Overall we didn't felt that we got much value for our money, if the room was 30% cheaper we would have been happier. No refund or anything for the situation with the bugs. I wouldn't chose this hotel again on my next visit for sure.

Overall, I liked the hotel. The room was clean, and the cleaning service throughout the hotel was very good, which was a pleasant surprise. Breakfast was quite varied, with the options to choose from. The staff was polite and helpful. The only things to keep in mind are the small size of the shower cabin—it wasn’t an issue for me, but it might be uncomfortable for a larger person—and the lack of hotel parking. There is only paid street parking in the area. The room had slippers and bathrobes. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The location is great—fairly close to the sea and the pedestrian promenade. I recommend this hotel.

At first sight this is an elegant hotel with a cosy ambiance, opulent furniture in the rooms, well assorted light fixtures and textiles. The staff are friendly and helpful- our communication with them was satisfactory. But the hotel does not posses the expected amenities, especially for 4 stars. Basically that building was never meant to be a hotel. There isn't a real restaurant, just a few rooms at the basement for serving breakfast and no bar/ café either, not to mention an inner courtyard or a terrace. Well, there is a makeshift "terrace" right on the sidewalk, where a bus stop is placed, so even if it was open, you couldn't use it because of the noise, dust and people passing right by your table. Also, there is no parking space dedicated, unless you consider the lines drawn both on the street and the sidewalk to be proper parking- they aren't. For a 4 star hotel the bathroom is less than satisfactory- some 2 by 2 metres, with a minuscule shower and the toilet right next to the washbasin and no place to hang your beach gear or place your toiletries. That bathroom isn't even worth 2 stars! But the worst is yet to come. We stayed in room 101 B, where there was a pervasive stench of sewage. We hoped it would pass, we covered the drain in the bathroom, then we started paying attention and we realised that the strong ( and pleasant) fragrance in all the public spaces was meant to cover the unpleasant smell of that old building altogether. Ok, it is a historic building, marked as such at the entrance, but unless something is done about the musty smell and the drainage system we'll never return or recommend it. They were smart enough to give us a discount, after we mentioned official claims and local TV . Plus we suspected ill will on their behalf, as they surely must have known about the problems with the sewage smell on that area, but they offered us the...

We reserved this hotel thinking even me a bit of “belle époque”, and when i that beautiful architecture from the 30’s, this attracted me. But when I arrived, before opening the room door, I saw that the door was not closing well and moreover didn’t have any isolation: anyone could hear us from outside. When i entered the room, the first impression was: so beautiful. When i start checking the furniture quality, because i though that even the furniture was from that time, but i was shocked that the furniture was like ikea (or something similar, but was not wood, 100%). Then i though the phone in the room was original, and I was surprised it was made os plastic and made in china. The toilet had a cover that all people used, and was for handicapped people, it was not a normal one. It can’t clean well. The water didn’t have pressure, and so much time until hot water was coming. When i returned to the room, i saw the walls were made of pladur and not cement or concrete. In that moment I had the impression that I was in a movie set, because all was fake in that room. In the end as conclusion, what do you all think i found, in the bed? The pillows had am incredible smell of sweating, and in the evening, before i went to bed, I found 3 cockroaches. My wife and I couldn’t sleep all night as the cockroaches were in our bed. Is incredible as these people get so much money but the confort, quality and respect where...

Room was nice and comfy, antique looking furnitures gave it a nice retro look, the high ceiling give it a spacious feeling. Bed was also very comfortable. Breakfast was ok.||||Bath foot towel had a brownish colour. Shower head mount was broken, so I had to hold the shower mount with my hands while taking a shower. Shower doors looked rusted and old at the bottom. Toilet had a piece of wood at the bottom to support its frame. Surely not 4* standards.||||Room air conditioning was not working. Unacceptable for a 4* rated hotel at that price. I was sweating all night, despite having the air condition on cold setting.||||Also, asked in advance for breakfast box due to early morning check-out, but they said they don't do it because the time I want it is "too early" (6:00am) . Also unacceptable for a 4* rated hotel. Breakfast box may be inconvenient for the hotel staff because they have to spend 5 mins to prepare it, but then again, the hotel promotes itself as a 4* hotel. If you cannot provide these kind of services, stay at 3* or lower so the customers don't have false service expectations of you.||||Will surely not visit this...
