A Memorable Stay at Hotel Central Park, Sighișoara
We had the pleasure of spending New Year’s at Hotel Central Park in Sighișoara, and it was an experience we thoroughly enjoyed. The hotel’s location, right in the heart of the city, provided the perfect base to explore this charming medieval town.
Room: The rooms were cozy and full of character, with their rustic wooden floors adding a touch of old-world charm. While the floors creaked slightly, it felt like part of the authentic experience in such a historic setting. The beds were comfortable, ensuring restful nights after our days of celebration. The cleanliness of the room and bathroom was commendable, with housekeeping attending to every detail. Although the bedside outlets were missing, charging devices at the desk gave us an excuse to unplug and relax by the window, enjoying the lovely city view.
Breakfast: Breakfast was delightful, offering a solid selection of fresh and tasty options. The variety might not change daily, but the quality more than made up for it. The coffee, served from a self-service machine, was satisfying, especially when paired with the delicious pastries and bread. It was a great way to start each morning of our stay.
Staff: The staff was friendly and helpful, always greeting us with a smile. The front desk team ensured our check-in and check-out were seamless and made us feel welcome throughout our stay.
New Year’s Eve Celebration: The highlight of our visit was the New Year’s Eve party! The food was well-prepared, and while some items weren't to everyone’s taste, the staff accommodated special requests wherever possible. The festive atmosphere of the celebration was enhanced by beautifully arranged decorations, creating a magical ambiance for the evening.
The drinks flowed freely, with a good variety to keep everyone satisfied. The bar staff worked tirelessly to ensure glasses were never empty. While there were only a few cocktails on offer, they were made with care and tasted great.
The music was a mix of classic hits and festive Romanian tunes, which had everyone dancing and celebrating. While it leaned toward nostalgic 70s tracks at times, it brought a lively charm to the party that appealed to many of the guests.
Conclusion: Our stay at Hotel Central Park was a memorable way to ring in the New Year. The hotel’s blend of historic charm, attentive staff, and central location made it a wonderful choice. While there’s always room for improvement, the overall experience exceeded our expectations.
We’d gladly return for another stay and highly recommend the hotel to those looking for a warm, authentic...
Read moreDishonest with foreigners. I didn't actually stay there, but the employees tried to scam me for the benefit of the hotel.
I entered the hotel to ask where I could find wine to buy, like a supermarket. The guy at the reception told me there was one 50 meters down the street. Then someone on the side told him something in Romanian I didn't understand, and he told me I could buy wine with them, from the restaurant.
I told them I didn't want to pay restaurant prices on a wine, and would go to the supermarket. Then the same guy from the side told him another thing in Romanian, and the reception guy told me that the supermarket was closed because it was new year's eve, and I had to buy the wine at the hotel because I wouldn't find anything open.
I ended up taking a look at their wine menu, and the wines were, indeed, much more expensive than what you would pay for in a supermarket.
I gave up and left the hotel, but went check out the supermarket anyway. Sure enough, it was open, and I bought wine for much less than I would if I had let the employees at the hotel deceive me.
I have no idea how good the hotel is, but I would never stay in a place were they try to deceive...
Read moreReally disappointing for €100/night -A/C not strong enough to cool the room (there were 30 degrees in there) the solution proposed was to leave the windows open; result plenty of mosquitos biting the kids -dirty towels -at the restaurant even though the girl was polite she had no clue about customer service not coming back once to ask me if everything is ok, despite the fact that there were only 2 tables in the restaurant. She was continuously chatting to the people at the other table. I had to go to the bar to pay the tap and at the end I said thank you. Her reply: you’re welcome...not even a thank you after I left more than 20% tip I work in customer service and I always say thank you to the customers!!
I see ppl have good experiences in general. My first night kind of sucks... the hotel doesn’t stand up to its reputation.
Pros: the decor is nice and it’s very close to the Sighisoara Fortress Reception staff was nice and understandable.
Update: next day we got transferred to a much better ventilated room. Staff was very nice...
