Monti Chalet — Hotel in Zona Metropolitană Brașov

Regrettably, my experience with Monti Chalet was unsatisfactory. Despite my friend who organised the trip having a confirmed booking and calling to reconfirm it, the hotel cancelled our reservation without providing any prior notification. When we reached out to the hotel to inquire about the cancellation, they claimed that someone had called to cancel the reservation on our behalf, which was completely false. The hotel staff offered no explanation for their mistake and were unable to provide us with a room or any compensation for the inconvenience. As a result, we were forced to find alternative accommodation at the last minute, which was not only stressful but also expensive.

Although Monti Chalet may have experienced an error, the lack of communication and inadequate customer service in resolving the issue was disappointing. I would recommend that the hotel take measures to prevent similar errors in the future and improve their customer service to better assist guests in the event...

While Poiana Brasov is lovely and has lots to offer, especially in the busier seasons, we were less than impressed with the services at this Chalet. The rooms were great and the free breakfast was a nice touch. However, the hotel advertises a hot tub and sauna (an attractive feature under 'amenities') but in the fine print, it turns out, this is at an extra charge. Not only that, but it is 50 lei per person per hour. This was super disappointing to find out, and even when we asked if we could use the hot tub, we were told the water was dirty so it wasn't recommended to use. Charging for advertised amenities goes against industry standards, not to mention that for health reasons, it isn't recommended that people spend more than 10-15 mins in a hot tub/sauna at time. Booked 2 rooms for a weekend.

Location is clean and close to the gondola.

The breakfast is really good.

Yet, it had 2 really bad downsides. The bathroom has some sewage problems.

If you keep the bathroom door open, it fills the room with a smell of literal shit…. We had to keep the door closed and window always open.

Also, the rooms open with magnetic card. Card that demagnetized tons of times.

This is a problem because the reception is at another hotel, Artemis. And whenever we came back to our room, we had to walk upstairs to our room, only to go to the reception from another hotel for them to open the door and change the cards as they never worked!
