Restaurant Vânătorul în Poiana Brașov — Restaurant in Zona Metropolitană Brașov

It was a bitter-sweet experience on our side. we were a big group, 9 people, and we had heard about the place being very good so we decided to make a booking and go. We were called during the day of the booking to confirm the reservation, we confirmed and we were not told anything else. when we arrived there for dinner, we discovered that they also had a wedding in the restaurant. And it wasn”t in a separate place, no. the wedding was in one side of the restaurant, and our group (and the rest of the people who came to the restaurant that evening) was in an adiacent room to the wedding, but there was no door between the 2 places, you had to pass by the wedding party to get to the toilet, the waiters had to pass by the wedding party to come to us with the food, everything happened passing by the wedding. Also, at the beginning, there was the live very loud music singing at the wedding which overlapped with the music in our place, the general music from the restaurant. this was awful, we could not hear each other, we could not listen to either type of music, absolutely awful, especially for some members of our group who were a bit older and did not enjoy at all this aspect. in the end they stopped the music from the loudspeakers and we could only hear the music from the wedding, which was still extremely loud for some of us. on the other hand, the service was not the absolute best - the waiter was good, he did his best, but you could see he is not a great communicator. But as a waiter, all was ok, he explained certain things, he brought the food, all ok. The food, on the other hand, was absolutely divine! we took the bear steak - it melts in your mouth. The duck breast with cherry sauce - absolutely divine, I will definitely go back for it! also the other members of our party were happy with the food (except the person who ordered the steak with butter. they ordered it medium-rare and it was practically a shoe sole.) Dessert was very good, as well, although it doesnt match the level of food they have - I was expecting something more spectacular than crepes susette (which were very tasty and they made at the table on the mobile stove - for the show. taste was good), papanași and lava cake - correctly made, very tasty, but i was expecting more variety, more wow stuff, according to the level of the food. So all in all, if you separate the part with the wedding, the experience was ok and we would recommend the place. It was not professional from them the fact that when they called us to confirm the booking, they did NOT tell us that they also have a wedding and it is not separated from the other clients. We would have not gone there that evening because some of us are very sensitive with the level of music they can listen to and they just put us in front of it when we arrived and we had to deal with it. Also I don”t know how pleasant it was for the wedding party to keep having intruders mixed up with them - so not good all in all. but apart from all this, food is amazing and assuming they dont have a wedding there every day :), I would definitely recommend the place! Go and order the bear steak and duck breast with cherry sauce. you will thank...

I do not understand the rating of this restaurant. From the entrance there is a not so welcoming toilet odour that never stops, not even at the table where you should eat. We went there for a fast lunch. We waited for 10 minutes, since we had one person waiting before us and the waiter asked for 4 people for a table, we invited him to eat with us. We all ordered bean soup in bread. In less than 4 minutes we received our order at the table. There was no soup in that bread at all, only some vegetables and meat. I had no more than 10 spoons of food. My friends refused to eat it and asked for the soup without bread. Our guest ate the soup and said that he eats anything anyway. The waiter came with 2 soups in a bowl and said that we had a bad attitude and the first 2 dishes would be paid by them! I was asked if I wanted a cup of soup, I refused and asked for some sour cream to eat with bread since I was still hungry. My friends also refused the other 2 soups since there were almost no beans in it anyway. We gave one of them to our guest since we would have paid for them anyway. A lady with a child that seemed somehow important came to our table and asked what happened. My friend asked her what her name was. After she introduced herself we told her what happened and asked for the check. She told us, very kind, that this is how this soup should be and refused to take our money. When we were on our way out, she asked if the 'schema' (a Romanian argou that is used by the low society members) holds on everywhere! Somehow we left some money in an appropriate manner for our experience and left hungry and in a very, very bad mood. Now I want to answer the lady: yes, ma'am! The schema holds on for you! The horeca owners that overcharge mediocre food, treat people badly and expect best regards for some salt in the eye! This is how we felt in your restaurant! Thank you but...

Total disapointment. The prices were expected to be as high due to the superb location, but the quality of service was very bad.

Food was decent, but the File Fish dish contained a lot of bones...The Bulz had less cheese, and the quality of the food in general was not that great. Eatable, but not up to the price.

We had a table near to the entrance, and there was constantly coming a WC smell from downstairs....really awful experience.

The lady serving us was very agressive..she was mad that she had to “make an other trip to kitchen” to bring a cold water bottle, instead the warmer one she brought without asking which one we preffer. She also said “I am not your babby sitter” when our small kid bumpted into her. Normal stuff would just smile or ignore it. Good stuff would make a nice small talk with the kid. Very bad attitude from the service staff.

A final mention is that we felt rushed to eat and drink, since there were other people waiting in line to get a table, and they were standing too close behind us... again, the staff was not able to manage them to wait in a better way, not scattered arround in the restaurant, sitting too close to the tables...

It’s a shame that from the high income they make(assumption made based on the prices), it was not possible for them to offer a proper service..

I hope that only the lady serving us was like that, and that she is an exception there. But this was...
