Disgusting experience for the amount of money they charge you. You would expect a luxury experience, but everything except for the building itself is beyond low budget: rusty metal parts in the bathroom, shower curtain that covers half the tub, resulting in large leaks of water from the shower, not to mention that when getting ready for the New Year's Eve event, I had to shower with COLD water. Restaurant is also subpar: old utensils, lots of plastic decoration and fake candles everywhere, and all of the workers are immigrants, not that I have anything against that, but that means they also went for the cheapest option they had on staff as well. Sound isolation is also bad, I can hear the little kids from next door crying better than the TV, which is also one of the cheapest TV's I've seen in a hotel. When dining at their expensive New Year's Eve course, we got some of the most laughable food I've ever seen from such a "respectable" hotel: wellington was one of the courses, and what we got was some puff pastry with a bit of mushroom in it, no beef. Making wellington without beef should be a crime, (the other appetizers were also bad, fried cheese that was so tough you couldnt bite it, etc) but moving on to the main course that we waited hours for, we got a small portion of turkey and pork, that were so overcooked and tough that you could barely bite them. The rest of the food was forgettable, and the portions were beyond small (which would be understandble if this was actually good food, which wasn't the case). I was expecting a night and dining experience I wouldn't forget, what we got was a throwback to when we had food parties organised by our secondary school. The interior pool is decent enough, but that's it. The pool walls are unmaintained, with small pieces sticking out that i cut my hand on, and the pool jacuzzi of course does not work. For the 2 hour duration I was at the pool, there was nobody staffing the in-pool bar, and when I got there there also was nobody at the entrance, so I had to help myself to the towels behind the counter. Some of the good things I will mention is that the breakfast is good, not amazing, but good, altough the selection is laughingly small. The building itself, not counting furniture and accesories, is actually pretty beautiful, so there is lots of potential here, but with the amount of wealthy middle aged to old people coming here that don't give a damn about price to quality, I doubt it's going to change. The location itself, is also pretty nice. You can walk from the hotel to pretty much any place of interest or restaurant in Poiana Brasov, but again, that applies to almost all hotels/resorts around here. Forgot to mention, the minibar in all of the rooms is completely empty upon arrival. Not even a bottle of water.
In summary, stay away from this place if you actually care about the service and experience you get comparative to the money you spend. I expected my experience to be an unforgettable New Year's Eve, but all I got was a comical "F you" to...
Read moreThe hotel is classic and pretty nice inside and outside. It has a big parking spot. It has wooden furniture. The location is great. With a great view. The rooms are large enough. Beds are comfortable. It's pretty clean but it can be better. I enjoyed the pool and the spa service. The massage, sauna were great. I also liked the food at the restaurant although the menu is not very diverse. The staff was also very kind.
I believe the cleaning should be improved. I found dust on the furniture, some dirt on the carpet and on the curtain. Also in the bath there was a bit of a weird smell and the wc was clean but it has rust. The amenities were not very functional. Ie: there was water coming out on the floor from the wc, the hair dryer keeps stopping, the phone doesn't work.. the tv is very small and it has a bad quality image. The bath needs some redesign. It looks pretty poor and old. The pillows are so bad. They had big pieces of sponge inside and they felt very uncomfortable. Who is responsible with room service and cleaning doesn't do a good job. Doesn't clean anything during our stay and doesn't even prepare the beds well. The face mask is mandatory but in reality nobody properly wears it. The guests never wear it even at the breakfast buffet and a lot of ppl were coughing.
But Overall I still consider it a good place for a relaxing getaway. Perfect for couples or families. You can't get bored because it has...
Read moreThe check-in hour is 4 PM, kind of late, but we had the room ready at 2 PM when we arrived. BF was okay, hot water and hot room temperature during the night.||||We had a mountainside view which was great. ||||Did not try Wi-Fi but had good mobile data coverage. Parking lot was full but there were some extra spaces available lateral to the main entrance where travelers usually don't park.||||Sauna (dry and wet) were included and were great though they tended to get crowded.||Pool was big but could get crowded too and the water temperature seemed to be in the low 20's which was a big turnoff.||||Dining area was big and we also had gym available, though we didn't try it out either. ||||Prices for the a-la-carte and pool bar were very high, but the food and drinks offering overall was good.||||On the spot room rate on the other hand was extremely expensive at 150 euros per night.||||Could do better with the bathroom renovations and the outside terrace which looked rusty and unkept. ||||Receptionists were kind and welcoming. The influx of immigrant workers made it hard to make specific requests though basic english and gestures would suffice.||||All in all, would recommend if you have money to spend and to give it a try as a bit cheaper option...
