Majestic Boutique Hotel Deluxe — Hotel in округ № 78

My sister and I returned yesterday from a trip to St Petersburg. We booked this hotel thinking that it looked lovely from its photos. We were not disappointed when we arrived. Not only is the hotel located in a perfect situation in St. Petersburg, it is exactly as it looks on the website. We were supposed to be a party of 3 and had booked a 4 night stay. Our father took ill on the day of travel and my sister and I had to arrive a day later. The hotel did not charge us for our fathers room, nor did they charge us for the night missed. The hotel is beautiful, just the right size and the rooms are just lovely. We were given an upgrade without even asking for it and each of us were given a complimentary bottle for wine for our rooms. The most important factor to us though was the staff. Anna, Julia, Maria and many others were superb. They helped us with so many different things and nothing was too much trouble. They were absolutely fabulous and a big thanks goes to them. Everything is right about the hotel, the ambience, the bar, the rooms and of course, the staff. The rooms do overlook the street which is very busy (as are most of the streets in the centre of St. Petersburg). But the windows are well soundproofed and it is nice to hear the city at night as far as we were concerned. It is a safe and interesting area and just off the Nevsky Prospekt with superb metro and bus links (both of which are cheap and easy to use). We cannot praise this hotel...

I booked this hotel way in advance for a relatively hefty price (compared to other 4 star hotels that are better located) but apparently I got taken away by the pictures. Our experience was everything but most definitely not pleasant but at least it was very short. We arrived early and were lucky enough, to be allowed to check-in right away. Only to be told approximately half an hour later we are not allowed to stay because one of us couldn't be registered at the hotel directly. My friend was already registered at the university as an exchange student and couldn't change his registration because this would have meant he would loose his visa (as a foreigner you will be registered wherever you are... greetings from big brother). We have stayed in plenty of other 4-star hotels before not just in St. Petersburg but also Moscow and never had an issue with this after we explained (in fluent russian) that my friend could only be "registered" as my guest due to his Visa regulations. After we made our case clear and argued that we will then go to another hotel at least they refunded us the already charged money. We then went to another 4 star hotel that was better located (not directly at a busy road and very close to Kazan cathedral/church of the savior on blood) had breakfast included, bigger rooms and was way less expensive.

Can only highly recommend...

I did not like the hotel, receptionists did not speak English well, I arrived and I made the payment of seven days a part in cash and another part in the card. I arrived at the apartment and stood on the carpet of the room next to the bed of water for 4 days. I arrived at the bar of the hotel to have a beer and they told me to pay soon, and every hotel I stay around the world always toss the extras into the apartment bill to be charged at the exit of the hotel. I went to talk to the receptionists and they were laughing at me, their posture horrible with host, being that they do not treat you with education. I give 0000 note and avoid this hotel, it is expensive and not worth it.Horrivel! 2/7 Não gostei do hotel, recepcinistas não falam bem o inglês, cheguei e ja fiz o pagamento de sete diarias uma parte em dinheiro e outra parte no cartão. Cheguei no apartamento e fiquei pisando no carpete do quarto ao lado da cama encharcado de água por 4 dias. Cheguei no bar do hotel para tomar uma cerveja e disseram para eu pagar logo, sendo que todo hotel que eu fico pelo mundo sempre lançam os extras na conta do apartamento para ser cobrado na saida do hotel. Fui falar com os recepcionistas e ficaram rindo de mim, postura deles horrivel com hospede, sendo que nao tratam você com educação. Dou nota 0000 e evitem esse hotel, é caro e nao vale a...
