Del Mar — Restaurant in Palace District

Located on Nevsky avenue, this place is chic, stylish and foreigner friendly (at least I saw several English speakers dancing and enjoying themselves with no issues along with the rest of the crowd). This is considered to be a restaurant, but to me it's more of a night club place during the night and a restaurant during the day. If you are a karaoke lover, then this is the place to go as they have a wide variety of songs to choose from. There is no entrance fee which is nice. If you come during special occasions or holidays, they might ask you to make a deposit depending on the location of your table. For example, if you sit on the main level and at the very edge on the second floor where you get a good view of the dancing area, you will have to make a higher deposit of money. It can range from 3000 rubles per person to 5000 rubles. So, if there are two of you, you can expect to pay 6000 rubles right away. When you order something it will get deducted from your deposit. DJ's are there to play the music. Their food and drink prices are decent. Of course, it all depends on what you are ordering. If you are to order Moet, then yes, you will have to shell out 10K rubles (around $150). The food is great and their kitchen works all night long. You can get appetizers, soups, main dishes there. They basically have everything you might want from Russian kitchen to Japanese kitchen. Servers are friendly and attentive. At night, it gets a bit loud but it's definitely a fun place to visit if you are in...

不值得去/not worth of going

First of all, I never really liked places where u smoked shisha and eat, cause the tobacco smell spoils the taste of food. Anyways, if you are ok with that I would still suggest to think twice before going to that place. Me and our friends (3 russians and 1 taiwanese) ordered borscht soup, mushroom soup, meat with potatoes, some sushi, calamari salad, georgian burger and some drinks. Meal quality was quite poor, while prices where not so cheap (around 1000₽ per person). Drinks were ok, we really enjoyed buckthorn tea. The thing that shocked us was the service quality: waitresses were quite cold, and the worst thing was when I payed the bill, they didn’t bring any change cause waitress thought that he can keep it as tips (that was 1000₽ while bill was 4000₽!!!). Our foreigner friend was quite shocked as well. The only thing he said was ok that there were some pretty girls working as hostess. So, the place is terrible, 1 out of 5.

Came with a friend from Gelsomino on Sunday night to grab some food. No one met us at the entry. No one asked about if we need a table. Actually we came into the main room and just were looking around to find a place to seat and order some food ...and found no assistance. We had to look around for a waiter who told us to find a hostess near the entry...’she must be somewhere there’ he said. Few minutes later we discovered that hostess was busy flirting with a guest and she couldn’t care less about newcomers. If you expect good manners and cosy friendly atmosphere- this is a wrong place. Uh food is less than average obviously. But it’s Spb touristy downtown place right? What else...
