A Disappointing Stay at Prime Hotel Al Hamra in Jeddah
Rating: 1/5
My recent experience at Prime Hotel Al Hamra in Jeddah left much to be desired. From the moment we arrived, it was evident that our stay would be far from pleasant.
One of the major issues we encountered was the mishandling of our reservation. Despite booking a specific room, the hotel reception gave it away to somebody else, leaving us with a smaller and less desirable accommodation. This initial disappointment set the tone for the rest of our stay.
The problems continued when we discovered that the extra beds we had requested for our children were not provided. To make matters worse, there were no bathroom towels or even a basic supply of water in the room. Such oversights significantly impacted our comfort and convenience during the stay.
The room itself was another source of disappointment. It had an unpleasant smell and was incredibly stinky, with dirty carpets that had turned black and emitted a foul odor. The lack of cleanliness was not only visually displeasing but also raised concerns about the overall hygiene standards of the hotel.
Our dining experience was equally disappointing, especially during breakfast. The quality of the food was subpar, and the selection was limited. One particular staff member, a female chef named Heba, stood out for all the wrong reasons. Her rude and nasty demeanor was uncalled for, further souring our already disappointing experience.
In conclusion, my family and I had high expectations for our stay at Prime Hotel Al Hamra, but unfortunately, it fell short in every aspect. From the room mix-up to the lack of amenities, the uncleanliness, and the unpleasant encounters with staff, our overall experience was marred by a series of disappointments. We sincerely hope that the management takes these issues seriously and addresses them to enhance the quality of service for...
Read moreThe hotel was quite disappointing. Let me first say the issue had nothing to do with the staff or with house service. 1st. The building is dated and does not match the image on the website. 2nd. The rooms were dated and so dirty. (Images attached) came with my 2 small children and I couldn't wait to leave. It was disgusting. It's smelled of tobacco from the excessive smoking. The carpets in thr hallway in the rooms were so dirty. The sofa in the family/lounge are of room are beige but dark spots were everywhere. The walls had never been washed as stains from spilled drinks have became part of the wall art. Dining tables dirty. Lighting poor. Sink in kitchenette was in a Corner so harder for shorter people like myself to wash hands. Cabinet nearly surviving. Bathroom has poor ventilation toilet seat structure was not tight. Bed was ok.. but so turned off by all thr other spaces could not get comfortable.
Booked this hotel bc of the gym which was missing matching dumbells. No lights work and it's dirty in there as well.
The children play area they speak of does not exist. They had a kitchen play toy. That was it.
Would not recommend for a family or anyone who believes in cleanliness. You will be disappointed. Checked out the next day and booked another hotel for the...
Read moreWe booked the Prime through Agoda, encouraged by the "Excellent" 8.4 rating, and the proliferation of gushing reviews. When our taxi pulled into a multistory car park and stopped outside a sorry-looking frosted glass door, next to a large pile of cardboard boxes, we thought there must have been some mistake. Sadly, there hadn't. ||The foyer of the hotel matched the very underwhelming entrance, and the facade had me breaking out in resigned laughter at the contrast in appearance to the glossy images on Agoda. Clearly, the owner of this hotel is not bothered by the hotel's shabby appearance, and I did wonder who on Earth had been minded to award the place such high praise on Agoda. ||Although the rooms themselves were not too badly appointed, apart from the odd carpet stain and ghastly views from the windows (Al Hamra is not a pretty part of town), the indoor pool was tiny and the overall vibe of the place was simply underwhelming. So much so that I was willing to write off the non-refundable $800 and book into another hotel, rather than spend 6 nights in a shabby, poorly-maintained hotel in an equally tatty...
