I went for this hotel to save a some money on my trip, I am self employed. ||First appearances aren't great, I arrived late, it's down a dusty side road. Reception is dark and not very appealing.||The hotel is tired and needs investment.||Putting that aside, I LOVED my stay here. All of the staff are so friendly and helpful. Even the night porters are helpful and friendly. ||Importantly...best wifi in Dakar and friendliest place to stay .||The food is affordable and nicely cooked and fresh. The bar and small pool are really cool places to chill out and relax. Clean and quirky. I have stayed in four much more expensive hotels in Dakar but this is the one I would return to.||The hotel is very convenient for the Almadies strip but the longer I stayed the less I went out.||The place has a really welcoming and has a laid back feel about it that works.||I would rather stay here than the more expensive hotels close by. ||Nice place and great ambience guys. Thanks for your...
Read moreHotel Fana is not expensive, has nice cosy rooms with an elevated sleeping area with mosquito net, air-con, TV and hot running water. Very comfy large bed!!! The staff are so helpful even with my poor French. Location is very quiet off the main road. It is a bit far from Dakar very centre, but on the other hand you get other places near - the African renaissance monument, Les Mamelles, the beaches Ngor ,Yoff and Virage, and all the great restaurants and bars in Pointe Des Almadies.||The only complaint is the breakfast that is not included and not worth the price (2 pieces of bread, boiled egg, butter and Laughing Cow cheese), but there is a wonderful cafe just a few steps from the hotel opened from 8am that serves excellent omelettes, juices etc... Also there are swimming lessons in the pool in the afternoon so not so relaxing if you want to unwind at the pool. Otherwise excellent stay for a...
Read moreSpent 5 nights at Fana Hotel while attending a conference. Good communication following booking and they arranged a driver to collect me at the airport who was waiting when I arrived. The hotel is nicely laid out with areas to sit. WiFi was generally good although signal fluctuated a bit. The gardens are nice although the pool was empty due to some maintenance. Nice bar / restaurant area. Breakfast is charged as extra but is good with plenty of choice - coffee, tea, juices, pastries, bread, fruit and eggs cooked to order. Ordered dinner and the food was good and meal very large. All staff were friendly and helpful. Good location for the conference I was attending at King Fahd Hotel as I could walk in 15 minutes. There is a convenience store and other restaurants nearby. Taxis available outside the hotel. All in all, very happy with...
