We had high hopes for our stay, but unfortunately, there were a few aspects that made the experience less enjoyable than expected. The biggest issue for us was the bed, which was extremely uncomfortable due to excessive sagging on both sides of the mattress. We didn’t sleep well a single night, which left us exhausted during our holiday—exactly the opposite of what we were aiming for. That’s actually why we chose a hotel in this category. We also ended up with back pain. The sofas in the room were in equally poor condition. Another disappointing aspect was cleanliness. The bathroom door (dark glass) had visible streaks, the daily room cleaning left noticeable dirt behind, and there was a sticky patch on the parquet floor when we arrived. We are posting a photo showing it with bits of paper stuck to it after trying to clean it ourselves. The bathroom door handles also had smudges and fingerprints, which shouldn't happen in a hotel of this level. At the rooftop restaurant, the prices did not match the quality of service. There was food on the floor under the table, no coasters for cold drinks (which would be appreciated in summer), and they removed plates before everyone at the table had finished eating. They didn’t even offer us dessert, and the background music felt more suited to a gym than to a restaurant. As for breakfast, it included some healthy options, though not many, and it was exactly the same every single day. That said, we also want to highlight the positives: the staff was very kind and helpful, and we really enjoyed the gym, sauna, and outdoor pool area. We also appreciated that they let us stay one extra hour after check-out. These aspects definitely made a good impression. With a few improvements, this hotel could offer a much more comfortable and pleasant experience.

Check-In: At Check-In (we were early, around 10 a.m.) they told us, the room will be ready around 12.00 instead of 2 p.m., they will try their best. Did not happen like that, we had to wait until 2 p.m. Well, thats not to worry about, in that case you could offer a drink at the bar or something for compensation. Well, did not happen either. Room (Familyroom): The room is okey, but the furniture old and many parts broken. You feel, smell and sence it everywhere. But, still okey. Unfortunately they did not realize, eventhough we booked it like that, that we have a baby (6 months) with us. We got an additonal bed instead of a babybed. After asking 4 time over 2 days, we finally got a babybed. Pricing and quality: The communicated and adevertised luxury as well as quality is false. The prices on the other hand are european highlevel. For a coktail, made with cheap and often wrong ingrediances, are around 15 euros. Thats a regular price in germany, switzerland or england, but not in serbia and not with bad booz. The food is tasty and good, but overpriced as well. Positive: + Breakfast is diverse and even after 3-4 days you will still find somehing new and nice -> ask the waiter for coffe, dont take it from the breakfast maschine + Nice staff, maybe sometimes a bit to chill for a "luxuryhotel". Negative: - 25 minutes walk to the center - Beverages in the minibar are beyond the expiration date (coke expired in may, we where there in august) - not even close 5 stars/luxury, maybe 3+ Consequences: -> Go for another hotel if you are looking for luxury (Hilton / Marriot) -> Take a city Hotel (Mama Shelter or Art Boutique) if you are looking for party / shopping / sightseeing -> Take the Monopol if you are okey with older rooms and good breakfast and "as if luxury"

The WORST experience I EVER had in ALL MY LIFE!!!! This is not 5 star this is the worst place I ever saw with the worst service and communication!!!! if I could put even not 0 but -100 I would do it !!!||They destroyed completely our honeymoon!!!!!||||1-Big manifestation in the city million of people on the street in front of the hotel, in the hotel full of journalists, newspapers talking about that from many days, all the city blocked for the car and no one human of this hotel PREVENTED FOREIGN TOURISTS LIKE US about big problem of the city for our SECURITY!!!!!!||After one hour of looking for a parking impossible to find and having trouble to reach the hotel by feet when we ask the reception, “why nobody told us about this problem” the reception guy working the morning of 15.03 was rude, irresponsible and in a really arrogant mood said us to delete a reservation because for him there were no problems!!!!….||The spa manager said us to UNDERSTAND THE HOTEL HAHA like they didn’t know about that!!! Wow!!!!!! What a liars!!!!! The hotel was full of journalists, manifestations from many days in the city but they like “didn’t know”!!!!||The room they gave us had thousands problems specially with the bathroom…it was really cold inside!!! And still with big noise from outside…||Like the bath was losing water everywhere and it wasn’t the hotels problem because the maintenance guy didn’t do nothing for that we were skiing on the floor with the shoes they give us so it was extremely dangerous!!!||||2-When we went in the night to finally park the car we came in front of a ELEVATOR for little cars and no other way to reach the parking with a big car!!!! So we had to live our car outside again!!!! So here too NO INFORMATIONS about this!!!!! ||||3-Next day we still wanted to have our honeymoon dinner in the restaurant rooftop but it was CLOSED for a private party and no service in the room was made!!!!! But nobody told us this!!!!! AGAIN!!!!!!! ||||4-Careful that this place block your money of superior amount than the cost of the room PER NIGHT like “for the insurance” even before that you come to the hotel, and you see this money disappear from your account!!! This is also not written nowhere in any website or booking or other it is just a big surprise that you have when you arrive… then this money will be returned to your bank account from 5 till 30 days!!!! it is just crazy. We never saw this in all our life!!!!!||||This horrible place destroyed our honeymoon being not able to inform people and being arrogant and absolutely not professional from the beginning till the end during our stay!!!!!!! ||||This place is a 2* hotel and...

I’m not sure how this is considered a 5-star hotel but by no means is it one. It’s a 3-star hotel at best.

The hotel itself is out-dated. The hallways and rooms are old and need desperate attention. The hotel rooms don’t have air-conditioning. We told the staff on multiple occasions that the rooms were too hot. Their suggestion was to open a window… which barely opens to allow any air inside the room. On one occasion, at 3 in the morning, they sent a maintenance guy to our room who was perhaps the most useless person at this hotel. He came inside our room, said the temperature was okay, and left. No help, no care in the world. This is really a trend we saw throughout the hotel staff: they don’t really care about their customers or their jobs. Very much seems that they’re just here to clock-in and clock-out, which I would expect at a 1 or 2-star hotel but not a supposed 5-start hotel. Heaven forbid you have a problem while you’re staying here!

Breakfast isn’t served until 7 am. The “hot” food was all cold. Pastries tasted old. Very underwhelming.

The gym doesn’t open until 7 am, which doesn’t make sense and isn’t accommodating to those with full schedules (e.g., tours, business meetings, conferences, etc). Even at 7 am, the cleaning lady is mopping the gym, as opposed to doing this the night before. You have to sign in every time you go to the gym or swimming pool, which I’ve never had to do in any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. This could be very easily resolved by just installing a card reader to allow only guests to access the gym at any time like other hotels do. Depending on who is working that day, the gym staff is unenthusiastic and not very helpful. Again, this is definitely a theme we saw throughout the hotel. The gym staff doesn’t like when you bring your own water bottle and fill it up at the water station. Imagine paying for a 5-star hotel only to be told that you can’t fill your own water bottle in the gym. Again, no A/C in the gym. As a result, it gets hot, humid, and musty in there, which makes it difficult to workout.

To those reading this and wondering if this is a hotel they should book, my suggestion is absolutely not. There are so many other hotels that are closer to the city center and are at a better price. Don’t let the 5-star designation fool you. Read the negative reviews of the hotel and you’ll see they’re all saying the same thing. I cannot in good faith recommend this...

Good things: comfy beds, large rooms, good buffet breakfast, excellent location, nice dinner restaurant on the 7th (?) floor, soundproofed windows, umbrella, complimentary wine in the room, complimentary bottled mineral water every day, good shower, good value for money. If you're not at all fussy, you'll have a great stay.

..... More details:

This is a 5 star hotel in Belgrade but don't expect The Ritz. Some of the staff and the hotel in general lack attention to detail, and that willingness to go the extra mile for the guest, which is something I would expect from this hotel category.

Don't get me wrong - we would and probably will stay there again but I'll know to lower my expectations.

For example, I stepped into some fruit salad that someone poured on the floor and asked an employee to please get me a napkin so that I could clean my shoe and not spread the sticky stuff all over the restaurant floor. He basically shrugged and ignored me. I had to ask again, then, reluctantly, he cleaned the floor, gave me nothing to clean my shoe with and left. at which point I said, whatever, and walked on with my sticky shoe. Some waiters were extremely friendly though and made up for this Grinch (He wasn't a waiter).

The hotel is situated on a very loud main street, and if your room is on this side you'll need earplugs or will have to close the window at night. The windows were quite well soundproofed though, so if you closed them, sleeping was easy. The beds were very comfortable, even the pillows. The other side of the hotel faces a park - much quieter.

But again - attention to detail: there was a thin layer of dust everywhere and it didn't seem to go away after the maid had fixed up the room. So I cleaned the dust off myself and we kept the DND sign on for the rest of the stay, because we didn't want towels and such changed anyway.

Also, the receptionists didn't all even speak Serbian, despite this being the capital city, but they could get by with English.

But despite those little things, we had an enjoyable stay and will certainly choose this over say, a...
