Karavan Inn — Hotel in City of Belgrade

This place should be a hotel. The bathroom is a modern designed (I had a private room with a double bed) and the interior was very modern as well. The best part was the balcony that you could hang out in and watch the busy streets of Belgrade. Its located 250m from the big National Assembly hall, so you are in the center of Belgrade already. The staff is amazing, giving you the best and finest information and service about the city. They love what they do and thats why I think this was the best place I have ever stayed in. You feel like they really want you to have an amazing stay. They even took there time to order me a taxi the day before my departure, and I needed my taxi to pick me up at 04:30 in the morning to take me to the airport. But that was not a problem. Very bad and unsafe. The staff is really not nice and unhelpful. The "manager" of the reception is very weird. They open and close the "hostel" whenever they want (actually it's more like an office than a hostel). When I was staying, there were guests, who arrived after the hostel closed (around 4 p.m) and there was no one to let them in, and they waited 4 hours outside until someone answered them on WhatsApp. Someone else waited outside for an hour, because during his stay the password to the door was changed and they didn't inform him about it. They even didn't apologize. Another guest didn't have a password to the room door, and none of the staff were there to help. And all this is just my short stay there. Beware of this hostel, I didn't see that there is a manager who is with responsibility to the guests. Don't be impressed by the high reviews...

Booked with the hostel, wrote to them MONTHS in advance to ask if everything is fine with the booking, they confirmed and then CANCELLED on the day we were supposed to check in. "Best of all", we had three other friends on a separate reservation for 3 single beds, they were accepted first, then it turned out their reservation is also doubled, first night two of them slept on one bed and the third person ON THE COUCH in the living room! Second day they literally got kicked out! So yep... That's what you get for booking months in advance with this joke of a hostel - either cancellation or the same day of arrival, or being kicked out on the first morning there.
