The park was originally called the "Lion Park" in the early 19th century, as it was home to a menagerie of animals, including lions. It was later renamed Tašmajdan, which means "stone quarry" in Serbian, due to the rocky terrain where it was built. In the 1930s, the park was redesigned in an English landscape style, with winding paths, flower beds, and ponds. Today, Tašmajdan Park is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike, offering a peaceful oasis in the heart of the city.

Tasmajdan Park is one of the most beautiful and serene green spaces in the heart of Belgrade. The park is located in close proximity to some of the city's most famous landmarks, including the Church of Saint Mark and the iconic Milica Rakic monument.

One of the standout features of Tasmajdan Park is its beautiful landscape design, which features lush greenery, vibrant flowers, and a tranquil lake that is home to several species of birds and fish. Visitors can take a leisurely stroll along the winding paths, enjoy a picnic on the grassy lawns, or simply relax and soak up the peaceful atmosphere.

One of the park's most notable attractions is the Milica Rakic monument, which stands at the entrance of the park. The sculpture is a testament to the bravery and resilience of the Serbian people during World War I and is a must-see for anyone visiting the park.

Another must-visit attraction in Tasmajdan Park is the Church of Saint Mark, a stunning example of Serbian Orthodox architecture that dates back to the early 20th century. The church's iconic dome and intricate frescoes make it one of the most recognizable landmarks in Belgrade and a popular destination for tourists and locals alike.

Overall, Tasmajdan Park is a wonderful destination for anyone looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy some peace and quiet in a beautiful natural setting. Whether you're a history buff interested in learning more about Serbia's past or simply looking for a quiet spot to relax and unwind, Tasmajdan Park is definitely...

Nice place for relaxation and taking a walk. It's both clean and green, all that you could wish from a park. The calisthenics gym is also a huge plus for people who want to work out and it's complitely free. Also , a big plus for a dog park. One thing that i don't like is the noise. Since the park is located near the city center, sometimes it can get noisy. Not too much, you can still enjoy yourself, but you will hear some horns and sirens from time to time. Also, visit the church if you have the time, a great, monumental building which will definitely spark some admiration once you see it from the inside.

One of the largest parks in Belgrade. A great place for children to play, exercise on the equipment, run along the path on the edge of the park, drink coffee or have a good lunch in the restaurant in the park itself. Various events are often organized, such as sports or fairs of honey and honey products... Nearby is the church of St. Mark, and right next to it is a smaller, Russian church.
