Such a beautiful property with spacious rooms and fantastic location, marred by average service and terrible food. That is literally the summary of this place.
We stayed here for about 3 nights. During the time we were there, we never saw the Guest Experience Manager.
The first evening we checked in, it took us more than hour to check in. The dinner seafood buffet was practically flavourless - it appeared as if frozen seafood was being used.
The next day breakfast was average too. In evening, we went around the resort to look for another eating place. Sadly we couldn’t find much. That way the location is a little tricky - there is not much outside the resort.
We ended up eating at the Chinese restaurant in the resort. The food was terrible - so much cornflour and so much salt - even the roadside eateries in India will do a better job.
Finally the next day, we started looking for a car to rent. We couldn’t find anything. There was no Guest Experience Manager. We asked some of the staff, but to no avail. Finally, after calling some 60 companies, one agreed, but for the next day. We were travelling at the New Year’s Eve so the car shortage is understandable.
That day evening, there was a gala dinner.l for New Year’s Eve. We were made to sit with other Indian couples, served dal, aloo gobhi and some other Indian dishes. The buffet was flavourless. There were a ton of options, such as beef wellington and local Seychellian dishes. But the beef was dry, and the seychellian food was also tasteless. We had by then had the local food in at least two day tours and it was excellent there. So clearly, it was a kitchen problem.
The next day we enjoyed for sometime at the beach. The beach is beautiful but crowded. However, there are lot of activities to do. After this we checked out, and we were promptly handed over a bill of $400 for the food. We were never given any coupon to avail within the property, for food - the one time we were given one, the Chinese restaurant refused to accept it.
About the staff - I think they have this habit of clubbing all Indians together, which is pretty annoying. They make assumptions about you based on your ethnicity, and that impacts their service. They would serve cold pancakes, over-season our food, and make us sit with other Indians - as if we don’t deserve to talk to other nationalities 🤷🏻♀️
All in all, the experience could have been much better. For such a beautiful property, the food completely ruins the experience. It is quite affordable as compared to others in Seychelles, but they cut corners in service and food,...
Read moreStayed four nights. For the price paid, the hotel falls short in some important aspects:1) WifiAbsolutely inadequate. Consistently so slow (averaging about 1.5 Mbps on several speed tests) to be nearly unusable. Moreover, it requires login and password every time and frequently disconnects. Absolutely unsuitable to get any work done; even checking emails takes forever. 2) Staff and serviceSome (fortunately not all) of the front desk staff need an attitude adjustment, since they seem to have forgotten that their job is to assist guests, not blow them off. Many requests get the same answer: come back later or you need to ask someone else. Even when you report a problem with the room and they say it will get taken care of, nothing gets done. I had issues with the AC remote in my room, whose screen went blank the second day I was there, rendering it useless. I called to have it fixed (I thought it just needed new batteries, although it wasn't the case) and it took two calls and nearly an hour. The next day the new remote also died for no apparent reason (I didn't drop it or anything). Since I was leaving the hotel at 06:30 for a day trip, I asked them to take care of it while I was gone. When I returned 12 hours later, nothing had been done.Fortunately, some of the staff are actually helpful, like a man who found me an air-conditioned area to work on my laptop for a couple of hours after check-out while I was waiting for my ride.3) BreakfastWhile there was a reasonable selection, quality was lacking - especially the croissants and pastries, which were stale and soggy. The property is located on the beachfront and provides great views especially at sunset. There is no elevator and the overall upkeep of the property leaves a lot to be desired. Soundproofing is lacking, and some guests are quite loud when they return to their rooms late at night. My room was dated but reasonably clean and functional. Comfortable bed and pillows. Amenities included electric kettle and mini-fridge. Power sockets are located only by the desk; there aren't any by the bed.Bathroom with everything in working order and standard toiletries. Upon arrival (late at night), there were only bath towels and no hand towels.Overall the place has potential, but it needs renovation, better staff training and much better wifi to be a...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of staying at the Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort & Casino in Seychelles, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. Nestled right on the pristine Beau Vallon Beach, the resort offers breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean and easy access to the vibrant capital, Victoria, just a short drive away.
From the moment we arrived, the warmth and hospitality of the staff stood out. I would like to extend special thanks to Gihan Kapita at the reception for his friendly and efficient service, making our check-in seamless and welcoming . Prem Singh’s attention to detail and dedication to guest satisfaction were evident throughout our stay; his professionalism and kindness truly enhanced our experience . Raj and Tikaram were always ready to assist, ensuring that our needs were met with a smile. Nexi G’s responsiveness and commitment to guest comfort did not go unnoticed, adding to the overall positive atmosphere of the resort .
The resort’s amenities are impressive. The rooms are spacious and clean, offering stunning views that make waking up each morning a delight. Dining options cater to a variety of tastes, with delicious Indian cuisine available, providing a taste of home for many guests . The beach is just steps away, and the swimming pool with its sea-facing view is a perfect spot to relax and soak in the beauty of the surroundings.
While the resort is not the most modern, its charm lies in its comfortable accommodations and the exceptional service provided by its staff. The genuine care and friendliness of the team create a welcoming environment that makes you feel right at home.
In conclusion, my stay at Berjaya Beau Vallon Bay Resort & Casino was marked by beautiful scenery, comfortable accommodations, and outstanding service. I highly recommend this resort to anyone visiting Seychelles and look forward to returning...
