I was in Zilina for a month to take Slovak language classes at the nearby University. I stayed at this Penzion at the suggestion of the University staff. I had a wonderful time here. The Penzion is really a restaurant that rents rooms. I stayed in one of the "Apartment" rooms, which is a room with an extra small enclave for a couch and television (but there is no cooking space in the room). The rooms are clean. As a long-term visitor, I opted for housekeeping just 3 times per week. They did my laundry, without charge, upon request; which I found incredible. You will never find that anywhere else! My only issue with my room was, no air conditioning. I feel like I got the real Slovak experience. Mostly locals stay at this place and it is destination dining in the local community. If you want to experience good and truly local food, this is it. I ate most of my meals here, especially after trying some of the other local recommended restaurants, the Penzion Kamelia restaurant is much better. I LOVED the staff, they really made my stay pleasant and memorable (and helped me learn a bit of Slovak). If you stay there with your family for a few days you might find the breakfast simple and repetitive, especially it's difficult to find something for a child.
