Despite being the only customers when we first arrived, the waiter was very friendly and helpful and the background music created a nice ambience so we didn't feel uncomfortable; and 3 more tables joined soon after anyway! My husband ordered the calamari and the portion was huge!! He cleared the plate and said it's one of the best he's ever had :) I went for the sea bream on the recommendation of the server - it was delicious though there were a LOT of bones! The Swiss chard potatoes were delicious and we shared the grilled vegetables which we both particularly enjoyed. We were too full for dessert though what looked like Streusel went to the next table and it looked good. Skip the crowds on the waterfront and head into the lanes behind for a delicious lunch of super-fresh fish at a fair...

Had lunch here and it was too good that i had to come back for dinner. Had a seafood pasta which was the best seafood pasta that i had in Slovenia for past 10 days. For dinner, i ordered olive soup and grilled sardine. im waiting to be served as im writing it!

Nicest thing about this place is the nicest and kindest hostess. A lady who was genuinely so helpful on every end. Though the restaurant was packed, she tried to engage with every table for what they need with nice and warm touch of recommendation or checking how they are doing. Called "The Pearl" and rightly so! This little pearl of a restaurant is found off the main sea front strip in Izola and offers some of the freshest fish cooked to perfection, I have to say they make the best scallops I have had in the 30 years since I have moved to Europe! My grandfather was a commercial fisherman so I am very picky when it comes to fish and how it is served. And the prices were amazing too!
