This is not a 5 star hotel. We visited the hotel in the end of May and paid 350 euros for the suite. Suite was decently sized, however the bedroom was quite small. The room had 3 AC units, which seemed great, however there was an undisclosed hotel policy that they turn off AC at 10pm in the night. No AC for 350 euros a night. The room temperature has risen to 27 degrees during the night. If you open balcony doors, you're unfortunately met with chlorine smell from the pool and chimney noise. Private beach with the beach café and restaurant was closed off and there were no sun beds, as the beach was officially closed until 1st of June, even though summer was in full swing (there was 30+ degrees for the majority of May). Dinner is overpriced (30 euros per person per night) and the quality and choice of food is terrible (e.g. caprese salad consisted of few tomatoes and a kilo of low quality gauda cheese). We've ended up going across the street for burek (very good!) For breakfast you cannot get a decent cup of coffee as there is only self service coffee from the machine. Chef looked completely disinterested in his work and we had to beg him to make us an omelette - which was the worst omelette I've ever had. Even the bread was completely stale and old. There is not enough staff or they're not efficient enough - the only time they were efficient was when they were telling people off 1 minute after breakfast service officially ended. Hotel has around 9 floors and 2 small elevators - 1 of which was out of service - this meant that it took you up to 15 minutes to get to your room. The room was clean on the surface, however if you looked at anything too closely, you could see that the rooms are not cleaned properly. The bathroom sink was clogged and we were met with other guests pubic hair after using sink. We've ended our stay after one night (it was supposed to be 2 nights) as this was the worst hotel experience. I cannot even compare it to 3 star hotels. The only positive thing in our stay was the staff at the front desk - they were professional and understanding and not at all surprised when we have given them reasons for our...
Read moreThis hotel was quite disappointing. We paid extra for a "Sea-side" room. After we checked in, I was surprised to go up to our room and notice that it was on the side of the hotel. When I stepped onto the balcony, the ocean made up about 5% of the view. When I went to the front desk and said that I expected a "sea-side" room to be a room facing the sea, I was told that to them, a "sea-side" room meant the room would be on the side of the hotel. I told them that I had paid extra for the room, and I had expected it to be facing the sea, or beside the sea, but again, I was told that to them, the room I paid for should be on the "side" of the hotel. It was a ridiculous conversation, and left me angry, as I had paid more for a sea-side room at an expensive hotel... Also, despite it being June 1, and hot and sunny outside, the hotel's outdoor pool was not open. And when we went to the beach, the hotel's lounge chairs were available, but its umbrellas were still in storage, and would not be brought out until June 16. Thus, everyone crammed the lounge chairs together in the limited amount of shade produced from a few trees. With tons of locals smoking on these lounge chairs, this was another unfortunate experience. The hotel's sauna facilities were closed for no apparenet reason. And its indoor pool, which it touts as being some sort of amazing geo-thermal hot spring pool, was simply a lukewarm indoor pool. Big deal, lol... All in all, I felt like the hotel was totally ripping me off... I would give it one star, if it wasn't for the fact that a few of its employees were quite kind. But otherwise, the owners of the hotel left me feeling quite cheated... I'll come back to the Piran area, but I'll never stay at this...
Read moreWe absolutely loved our stay here! The hotel is clean and very well presented. It’s in a great location on the sea front close to the shops bars and restaurants on offer! |We had a family room which was plenty big enough for the 4 of us and had an additional toilet as well as very spacious bathroom with both a bath and a shower. The room also had a large balcony with table and chairs and a lounger. It was at the back of the hotel and the lack of view did not concern us as had no intention of sitting out there. |There was something for everyone at breakfast. Everything was fresh and continued to be replenished by friendly staff. Big shout out to the chef on egg / omelette duty. He was exceptionally friendly and polite. Even accommodating (with a smile) our children who requested fried eggs with no yolks! He ensured we had a great start to our day each time - even when the restaurant was busy and he had a long queue he wasn’t flustered and made an effort with each guest. |When booking the hotel we were confused by what seemed to have the same photos for a number of hotels - I’ll be honest this did worry me slightly! But once there it made sense - it’s a group of 5 hotels sharing facilities. We had access to them all through a series of corridors. The pools were huge with plenty of sun-beds - we never had an issue finding 4 in the sun despite not being there early. |My husband used the gym each day and rated it! I also joined in with the water aerobics class each afternoon. |We had access to loungers on the beach but didn’t get round to using them. |We will definitely be returning - one of our best...
