Mont Rouge guesthouse — Hotel in Dihlabeng Local Municipality

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, Clarens is a wonderful tourist town. In regard to the guest house, the pics don't really do this place justice, it's very beautiful. The room was much better than expected for the price. It was cosy and charmingly decorated. It had a microwave, a mini-fridge, a toaster oven, a sink, cutlery, etc. It has a built-in braai on the outside patio. There is a gym and a small pool. There is a large firepit area where everyone can sit in the evenings. (Clarens can get VERY cold at night, so pack extra warm clothes). The location is great, it's right near stunning hiking trails and is very quiet at night. Riaan (the host) was very helpful, friendly and accomodating. There were two friendly donkeys that we petted.||||The only downsides were that the sand road is quite bumpy and needs to be graded. Fortunately, we were in an SUV as my sports car would have battled. Also, there is some noise bleed from the adjacent apartment in our case.||||Overall I'll definitely...

This is a really gem in beautiful Clarens. The chalet was extremely clean and comfortable. Each chalet has a private veranda and outside sitting area. The bed and bedding was superb and we had a wonderful sleep despite the cold weather that suddenly came in. But the room has A/C for cooling and heating! Bathroom is well appointed and the shower was superb.||||The kitchenette does not have a hot plate or stove but a microwave and kettle is provided. I would imagine that most people go into town for dinner as did almost everybody in the venue on our night. The centre of town is less than 1km from the chalets and so most just stroll into town. After all Clarens has such a selection of dining haunts to enjoy.||||We have definitely noted Mont Rouge for future use again. Many thanks to Riaan for the great support...
