Do not visit this hotel if you can afford to spend your money better. In disbelief as I type.

Some of the reception staff gossip and don't greet guests on arrival so you have to kind of let them get on with it while you find someone who actually wants to welcome you as you check in. Careless is an understatement. A two-night's stay (2 single beds in one room) cost approximately R3 000,00. What exactly did we pay for? A room that smelled of heavy body odor, and Lord knows what else. Then upon requesting to be moved to a livable room, we were informed that they would prepare a suitable one. They didn't revert with any update for an hour while we sat in the stinky room, getting headaches from the stench. We had to call reception after which a porter was sent to take our luggage to the room next door, which smelled normal and fresh. You'd think that'd be the end of it. They apologized citing a mix up or error in allocation of rooms while I wondered exactly who the stinky room had initially been intended for (if it really was a mix-up/error). Health inspections don't seem to be a priority and it's quite concerning. Anyway, this room had no working air-conditioning/heater (it's in the dead of winter) so we called the reception for the maintenance guy who was very helpful. He replaced the batteries in the air conditioner's remote using those from the TV remote then brought new ones for the TV remote, for a TV that only has 3 channels to watch, mind you, the wifi has been 'down' for years. For context, we were exhausted from running loads of errands when we got there but had to wait in a stinky room for over an hour for them to prepare the room. We were irritable and sleep did not come easy. Never have I missed my own bed at home, while at a hotel as much as I did that night. We decided to stay in the next day (one of us wasn't feeling well after having to sit in a stinky room for over an hour) and informed housekeeping after only requesting a towel change and no further cleaning of the room. They took out the bins and let me replace the coffee and sugar while they did so. So I ordered breakfast on UberEats afterwards and stepped out for two/five minutes to collect it and someone (within that brief window) knocked on the door and opened it while one of us (who wasn't feeling well) was inside thinking I was at the door back from collecting the delivery downstairs. The unidentified male had entered the room without announcing himself. She was startled and asked him what he was doing in the room and he mumbled something about needing to check something on the balcony as he rushed out of the room. No one called or came afterwards. What a regrettable stay. We were so relieved to check out the next day to stay at a way better hotel nearby.

Impeccable Service: I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Premiere Hotel Regent, and I must say, the service was impeccable. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to assist with any request. Whether it was arranging transportation, recommending local attractions, or simply ensuring my room was well-stocked with amenities, they exceeded my expectations at every turn. The attention to detail and genuine hospitality.

Stunning Views*: The Premiere Hotel Regent offers not only top-notch service but also breathtaking views. I had the pleasure of staying in a room overlooking the city skyline, and it was truly mesmerizing, especially at sunrise and sunset. The hotel's prime location allowed me to explore the city with ease, knowing I could return to a serene and comfortable oasis at the end of the day. If you're looking for a hotel with stunning views and unbeatable hospitality, look no further than the Premiere Hotel Regent.

Exceptional Dining: One of the highlights of my stay at the Premiere Hotel Regent was the exceptional dining experience. The hotel's restaurants offered a diverse range of cuisines, all prepared with the finest ingredients and expertly crafted by talented chefs. Whether I was indulging in a gourmet breakfast buffet or savoring a sumptuous dinner, each meal was a culinary delight. The elegant ambiance and attentive service only added to the overall experience, making dining at the Premiere Hotel Regent a true pleasure.

I'm very disappointed with this 3-star hotel! The whole hotel is full of leaks (rain dripping through the ceilings on the floor). Buckets and blankets are all over the place to absorb water! This is a serious hazard, as people could easily slip and fall. Water is even dripping from the roof of the lifts!! (See video) The room is nice, but it has a musty smell, not even leaving the door and windows open help to get rid of the smell. The aircon is not working, only a roof fan in the bedroom. NO WIFI! 3 STAR HOTEL WITH NO WIFI! I am here on business, no one informed me that there is no internet in the rooms. How must business people work? The revolving door at the entrance is not working and gets stuck halfway through. Must say, with all the faults, the Staff is friendly and helpful. Theyvwent out of their way to assist in sorting out a issue that sliped in at the time of booking. but the management in charge of maintenance needs to be replaced! This hotel was a beautiful luxury hotel in its day, but it seems that due to bad management, the place is starting to fall apart! For the daily fee charged, I would rather book into a normal B&B next time.

Was a very disappointing experience...

Update: Breakdfast served is amazing. Big verity, and very tasty. Staff in the restaurant is very friendly and helpful. Keep up the good food and service in the restaurant!

Update2: I need to give credit where it is due. There is a effort from the hotel to fix the leaks, maintenance crews are busy inspecting the areas and fixing as they go along. Also, staff at the hotel is super friendly and helpfull. From the front desk, cleaners, kitchen...

Great hotel. So much potential due to its location and setup. But fails in terms of service delivery. This should be called the "Apologies" Hotel. I received alot of them. One of the workers mentioned to me that it was because the hotel was understaffed or tht it was a bit too big to manage smoothly. Thts probably why the lady who replaced my towels forgot to bring me new ones until I had to ask. My aircon didn't work, while the sun efficiently microwaved my North facing room throughout the day. Didn't bother calling reception about it, because them picking up is as rare as seeing a shooting star in the day. But anyways, I can overlook all that. My main source of frustration was that you could tell the staff were stressed. Rude, sour faced reception staff, like each of them had just taken a shot of vinegar, getting a smile from any of them is like finding lost treasure. Sigh. I don't know, maybe my standards are too high and I'm just nitpicking. Honestly, more smiles from the reception would have made me feel more welcome. However it wasn't all the reception staff, there was this one short lady who had an amazing smile. Plus the restaurant staff where quite nice. The room service people were great as well, at least they acknowledged my presence and made conversation like a typical human ought to do. Without these guys, my review would have been much worse.

A rather disappointing experience! The hotel lacks attention to detail! Upon my reservation I specifically requested a Non-Smoking suite with Air-Conditioning. Low and below hold, I was allocated a smoking room. Although spacious, it lacked cleanliness- found an empty packet of sweets and the bathroom drawers with a used towel covered in hair. Exhausted from a long drive, I was then moved over to another suite- Large open space overlooking the beach with a clogged sink and out of order Aircon. The matter was reported and soon the sink was sorted but was told a technician could only fix the aircon the next day. Finally being able to get comfy, I realized the couch was dirty and rather smelly. Checked out The Grill restaurant downstairs but service was at snails pace despite it not being busy at the time. The place has potential but definitely needs some upgrading (currently has old modern luxury), attention to detail and maybe bar fridge in the rooms. The only nice thing about my stay was the comfortable bed, sea views and swift staff response.
